This should cause some discussion: Carrillo Design SKOR-PIN

Dwaine's knives are not to everyone's liking, and are very different in in design, size, and methods of construction. Very "out of the box" if you will, and I guess that is the reason that I admire them, even if they are not really the kind that I am most drawn to.
He does howevever have quite a following and has for a long time, and his work is not exactly cheap either. So keeping these things in mind you have to give the man credit for that at least!Great score and enjoy your new toy, it will come in handy if you ever have to cut your way out of a tank:D!

I dont usually like these folders, but I do like this one for some reason? I dont mind the Pelican box either, actually like it as well.
Only thing I think I really dislike is the protruding screws on the handle scales, I can see that catching on the pocket and just being a sore spot while handling the knife. Other than that, looks like a helluva tough folder! Congrats on your score!

Not my style of folder, but it looks well made.

Except for the detent hole showing - I don't think I could ever get past that.

What the hell... I know this thread is a couple of years old. But, I will have my say... regardless.

First off, Dwaine's knives are built like a frickin' tank... and that's a good thing. It does "thwack" nicely when
opened and locks up tight. Yes, these folders are a bit crude and heavy... but, that's the beauty of his knives. I had one while deployed in Iraq. Used it, abused it, chopped with it, dropped it many times... in short, I gave it a whole shitload of hard use... and it begged for even more. So, crude and unfinished they may be to some, but, they are tough and last and I'll deploy with mine anytime. BTW: did you know that the "GB" in Carrillo Design stands for "Garage Built"... which they are!! My SkorPin's a special one. On the inside of the titanium liner is engraved 9/11/07, the date it was made and signed Dwaine Carrillo. I think it to be an appropriate post for today... this day of days. B i l l

BTW: The Pelican Box is the heat!!! why would anyone complain about this awesome packaging???

Thwack factor galore! Dwaine's grinds are pleasing to my eye. Something unique about these knives. You won't know until you own one.
