This should go over great at raves...

Welcome to Bladeforums!

I like it.

I just don't understand why knifemakers don't use more colors.

Red, orange, blue, green, etc. They are all available.

Much more expensive, due to volume. The price drop on going with black is remarkable.

I love it. I'm almost tempted to do it to my BK-7.

What if someone mistakes it for a martial arts trainer?

In that case, it's time for Darwin's Chainsaw of Natural Selection ;).

And in the interim it'll be good for a few laughs, and I've just eliminated the mall ninja tactical black paint job factor from the law enforcement officer relations equation .

That's an interesting point... you could honestly say the orange identifies it as a tool and not a weapon.

That's one of the many fringe benefits, yeah. It's also behind my use of red cord on the sheath, as well. Basically, I'm hoping that should the knife ever draw the attention of the local constabulary, once they stop laughing they'll get the message that I've deliberately attempted to make the knife as unsuitable as possible for shopping center ninjitsu...

I think I'm gonna change my nickname to Mall_Ninja... cuz that's *bleepin* funny and I never heard it till I came to BladeForums.

Seriously tho, that's an issue... I carry a cheapie Buck Squire instead of some tactical monstrosity for EDC, and "low profile" is a big reason. The suburban commandos may scoff at my choice, but I have a razor sharp blade at hand at all times, and if I take it out to open an envelope, no one is gonna have a cow about it.

Man, I loooooove blaze orange for my outdoor gear (ask my GF, she's convinced I'm bonkers), but that's too much orange even for me!!

Looks like ya did a nice job on it, at least. Hey, whatever floats yer boat! Or spins yer prop, or turns yer turbine, or... :D
