This should rock the mountain

Hey Jim,

Figure out how much black powder it would take to land it on a pad in the barn. Heck with an anvil shoot :D

Maybe just dig a tunnel and hoist it up though the hole ?

Uuhhhhhhh.....................relocate the barn?!?!?!
(that only took five cold units to work out)

I'll tell you what, that is the last piece of heavy equipment I deliver to Marks house. That poor little old truck didn't like those mountain roads. Then there was the driveway. Needed a running start to get up the thing, in reverse.

I.G The last patent date was 1919.

Larry , I'll see what I can find out on die measurements.

Hey A friend gave me a piece of what he called a billet of AISI A8. He thought I could slice off pieces and forge blades from it..... But I think it is a die from some kind of hammer. Haven't measured it yet but it's to big for my 25 lb Little Giant. I'll get a pict and some measurenments and post later tonight. Might be one of my easier winter projects:).

Deker, that's the Bradley "upright" helve. Anvil is forward on the trailer, slides under hammer head.

Ok, makes a little more sense now. Helve hammers are just cool in concept. I'd love to see one run (or better yet, get to use one! :) )

Thanks Larry,

I'll see if I cant get a measurement. The slots on the hammer and anvil are dovetailed just slightly. I would hate to guess the angle.??

Still havent gotten the base up the hill yet. Got rained out for a bit. It's get there soon though

It's 5" long, 3 1/16" wide and 2 7/16" high. No tapers but We can fix that.
