Just woke up to find I apparently posted in this thread a few times. Somebody didn't like 52 pages of snark I guess.
 
I think for as much as a GB small forest axe costs here, I would rather buy a Council tools Velvicut Hudson bay pattern axe.
@ Psy, IN all fairness Meat probably paid at least 50 pct more than we do for a BK-16 because of his location...lol
 
Well, I'll trade a GB SFA and a pile of fatwood for a saber bk-16 with a leather sheath any day :D

I paid 80€ for both of them, which is about 107$.
 
Dang power keeps going out here. We had a bit of an ice storm last night.
 
I love the idea of the GB SFA, but it turns out quality american-made vintage axes are inexpensive and clean up REALLY well.
My US-marked hatchet needs that crap new paint cleaned off, and I'm loving my 1.75lb Warren on a 28" boy's haft. hoo-yeah.


So my mom destroyed her 5" Oxo kitchen utility knife (saw, really). It saw *years* of use and untold dishwasher cycles before the moisture that long ago seeped inside the handle finally rusted through the tang at the first pin hole.

She wants me to make her a replacement, but my first thought was that if the BK-15 came in stainless I'd just get her one of those. It would be a perfect in that role. Even with only the blade stripped and the bolts sealed with lock-tite, I probably couldn't expect her to care for the carbon steel. Tho she does have one carbon blade... hm.

Yup, I ordered an orange Cadet from them. Great stuff, although you might have to wait a while for a response. Great guy to talk to as well.

Got a Farmer too, but I didn't get that directly from them.

I have been eyeing them for a while. I really like Alox I have a Harvester and a Farmer. Trying to decide if the pretty colors are worth the extra money :)

I really like it, and it's my go to family party/fancy occasion knife. I'm not dissapointed. Since that run came out, they did show up on the bay for a lot less than I bought it for.
 
Gonna go out on a fishing trip soon but now I gotta decide which Becker is gonna come with me... I was thinking the 15 seems like a good fish gutter.. what do ya'll think?

Just looked outside, everything has a nice coat of ice on it. Looks like I won't be doing anything interesting today

15! If you make a sheath for it don't leave a bunch of excess on there though. You want slim and sleek for that baby.
