C4man, it is funny you mention the monkies, has anyone see the trailers for the new movie coming out on the 18th? Ben Stein is behind a documentary about how those in the scientific community who are wanting to investigate the Intelligent Design side of the coin are being vilified by the Darwinists. It is called "Expelled". They have a website and everything of course. Anyone interested ought to go and check out the trailers.
"The U.S. National Academy of Sciences has stated that "intelligent design, and other claims of supernatural intervention in the origin of life" are not science because they cannot be tested by experiment, do not generate any predictions, and propose no new hypotheses of their own.[15]"
to me, it is like solipsism. someone tries to convince me with all of their might that nothing exists outside of their mind, and that it isn't real. and I say "okay. have fun with that, I'm gonna continue about my merry way trying to understand the physical world now." and the worst part is, I believe in many of the ideas of solipsism. it just has no place being used as a justification for any physical problems, because it's non referential to them. there is a complete disconnect between the idea of solipsism and understanding the world as a physical structure.

and in this case:
"there isn't a god/intelligent designer", "okay. doesn't change my view of what happened based on physical evidence."
"there is a god/intelligent designer", "okay, doesn't chance my view of what happened based on physical evidence."
it will never be an equivalent theory alongside evolution because it's doesn't effect physical evidence or science. it's
philosophy. and verbal logic.

vs.

as a discussion it's great, and it's messed up if anyone gets called stupid for it or pushed aside as irrelevant. But I do not feel sorry for people who get denied the right to call creationism "physical science". becuase it's not.
all that intelligent design provides is one single new factor in actual physical science - that there is no gaurenteed physical law in existence, ever. because the hand of the "intelligent designer" can change it at any time.
and thats like solipsism. in the study of physical science, it's something to be considered, and then set aside for later philosophical study becuase it doesn't effect any of the problems at hand.
ugh.... and I got pulled into a bait post

:barf:
I'm usually much better at not posting things like this... and this is the busse forum. ugh...
