This Spurious Rumor, Again

makes you wonder how or why in the heck they come up with this stuff:confused:

When you called him on it he knew right away he was wrong:confused:

I keep seeing that we evolved from monkey's, yeah right :p  Doesn't make it true, Praise God  People can and will say what they will, they always have.

C4man, it is funny you mention the monkies, has anyone see the trailers for the new movie coming out on the 18th? Ben Stein is behind a documentary about how those in the scientific community who are wanting to investigate the Intelligent Design side of the coin are being vilified by the Darwinists. It is called "Expelled". They have a website and everything of course. Anyone interested ought to go and check out the trailers.

Come on... Everyone knows that INFI is actually melted scrap metel from Pakistan! Jeez guys... Catch up.

Actually, I know how. There's a particular knifemaker, one of the most well known and respected knifemakers, who knows better, but chooses to spread this rumor. I won't name him, here, since I can't show you proof. (He tells people this, verbally, not in writing.) Perhaps others, too, but I know one, for certain.

Anyway, Jerry knows who. I've discussed it with him, and he was already aware.

Sad and disgusting business tactics by this other maker, but Busse Combat seems to be flourishing in any case, so....

I seem to remember that INFI was made from old leaf springs, quenched in Carling Black Label, by the light of the full moon. ;)

Ive heard this "rumor" as well. Im pretty sure I know who it is as too, via comments Ive read at KF and JD but I wont say. VERY popular knifemaker though. Kinda turned me off his knives, which all things aside are excellant.

That's right, guys, don't give us any hints about it so we can't figure it out for ourselves. Sheesh. :p It's easier to cut the wings off rumors - or to take them from the realm of rumors to the realm of acknowledged facts - when they're widespread enough. Just a thought.

Damn and here I thought infi was transmogifried gold and thats why it was so expensive!!!! Guess my infi is not as valuable as I thought .:confused::rolleyes:

I thought INFI was made when a mommy hog and a daddy hog love each other very much...

Leaf springs from Chevy trucks. The misinformation about INFI and Tantos, is painful!!

Everyone knows INFI is second tier now.....I ONLY use knives made of Unobtainium...INFI doesn't hold a MATCH to it. :p

"The U.S. National Academy of Sciences has stated that "intelligent design, and other claims of supernatural intervention in the origin of life" are not science because they cannot be tested by experiment, do not generate any predictions, and propose no new hypotheses of their own.[15]"

to me, it is like solipsism. someone tries to convince me with all of their might that nothing exists outside of their mind, and that it isn't real. and I say "okay. have fun with that, I'm gonna continue about my merry way trying to understand the physical world now." and the worst part is, I believe in many of the ideas of solipsism. it just has no place being used as a justification for any physical problems, because it's non referential to them. there is a complete disconnect between the idea of solipsism and understanding the world as a physical structure.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism

and in this case:
"there isn't a god/intelligent designer", "okay. doesn't change my view of what happened based on physical evidence."
"there is a god/intelligent designer", "okay, doesn't chance my view of what happened based on physical evidence."

it will never be an equivalent theory alongside evolution because it's doesn't effect physical evidence or science. it's philosophy. and verbal logic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophy
vs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_science

as a discussion it's great, and it's messed up if anyone gets called stupid for it or pushed aside as irrelevant. But I do not feel sorry for people who get denied the right to call creationism "physical science". becuase it's not.

all that intelligent design provides is one single new factor in actual physical science - that there is no gaurenteed physical law in existence, ever. because the hand of the "intelligent designer" can change it at any time.

and thats like solipsism. in the study of physical science, it's something to be considered, and then set aside for later philosophical study becuase it doesn't effect any of the problems at hand.

ugh.... and I got pulled into a bait post :barf::p

I'm usually much better at not posting things like this... and this is the busse forum. ugh...
