This stinks

I am so sorry for your loss, especially on top of all you've been through. It is always the hardest thing to do. I wholeheartedly agree with your decision to have your other dog see Max after this all happened. It is the same advice my Vet gave me when I was able to have the Vet come to the house to put down my Rhodesian Ridgeback. She said that dogs understand the cycle of life but if the dog just disappears they keep waiting for their partner to come back.

I am glad that Jake is there to comfort you and to give you someone to care for.

Jake doesnt seem the same. There was another thread about dogs grieving. In my own denial I didnt want to believe that they also grieve. I knew the pain of losing my wife was horrific and I didnt want to believe that my little buddies were suffering along side me. I was wrong. My friend left last night and I cried like a baby. Some of that was stuff I have been holding onto from my wife came out also. What doesnt come out in the wash will come out in The rinse.

My power went off again last night at 8:30 pm. If a squirrel farts out here my power gos off. Lol
I took jake to the park early this morning. Stopped at a gormet high class pet store and bought jake some good bones.
Well maybe sometime I'll be able to help someone out who is going through similar experience

Sorry for the loss of your beloved friend, Krav. Anyone who says dogs ain't family must never have owned one. Try to find some comfort in knowing you brought as much happiness to his life as he brought to yours...

God Bless.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I had to shoot my best friend Sam (my Red Point Shorthaired Siamese Cat). He was in terminal renal failure. I wept for five days.

Been a couple years since I put mine down. I'm 28 years old and it was the hardest thing I've done so far in my life. Similar situation. Max had a growth on his back that had so much pressure that it would bleed and get all over the house. He was 15 years and had lots of life left but similar to your situation, waking up to blood stains around the house every day wasn't going to work. They couldn't operate as he didn't have a strong enough immune system to recover from the surgery. Was a brutal day putting him down but just remember that you did what was best for him. What made it easier for me was knowing that by him having lived his life with me, he had lived probably the best life a dog could have..

Krav, condolences for your buddy. Prayers for you, as always my friend.
Rest easy, Max

I'm very sorry. That's all I can really say. I know you have been through a lot man - I will pray for you. Hang in there buddy.
