Some of you guys know that I love Sebenzas and that I occasionally modify them.

Here's my latest, in collaboration with Reese Weiland on the blade (cpm3v)
Not exactly a wharncliffe, but I'll bet Gary Graley throws a fit when he sees it.

Cool, but I wonder--the blade is different and the handle has been heavily modified. Why not have Reese Weiland just make that knife the way you want in the first place? At least that way you'd have two knives.

Well, it's hard to explain if you not interested in doing your own work. I haven't progressed to the point of doing my own blades yet, hence my decision to ask Reese for help. As far as the handles, yes, they have been heavily modified--by me/ for me--and I personally love it.

Furthermore, I can't call Reeves and order a plain Seb with a flat grind cpm3v blade.

Any other questions?

:D

PS, oh, it's not about having two knives as I have a couple dozen +$400 knives already

I like the mod very much. Unfortunately it only serves to remind me that there is little chance of my ever seeing a wharnnie Mnandi. :(

Sure there is--email Reese and ask him to retrofit a new wharnie blade. :)

Now that's just plain cruel.

C'mon now--if you want some thing bad enough, all it takes is a little cash.

I positively had to have a flat ground, reverse tanto on a Sebenza platform.

Your dream can come true, too!! Do it!

I'd never thought about having another maker do a blade for a Sebbie.

Hmmmmmmm. . . . .interesting !

*visions of a wharnie daning through my head*

What does that modified-wharnie blade look like folded? Nice work!

Professor.

Holy smokes...love that mod.
I especially like the blade shape/grind and the fact that the thumbstuds are tucked behind the cutting edge.

Barry, you magnificent bastard! That is just crazy enough to work!
