It Is...
3/8 inches thick at the thickest part of the spine. (Oh yeah... BEEFY!!!) :thumbup: It tapers ever so slightly down towards the blade to be just under 3/8" at the ricasso. Believe it or not, for a knife as thick as this, it is sharp as heck with a sweet hollow grind, and quite pointy!!

Sweeter??? Tough call. I'd have to say the OD by just a a hair, as I was wanting one of these even before I landed the nickname "Mr. 27". Even still, both were Grail Busse's to me! :thumbup:

A good thing for your sanity! If you'd have held out, there would have been a rubber room, large doses of anti-anxiety medication, much counseling, and a straight jacket in your immediate future!! ;) ...But seriously, thank you very much for trading with me for it!!
 
I have some serious lust for that OD. Every time I see the other proto, and now this I have this knee-jerk instinct to send my snake/tan Off Duty to the spa for some satin love!!!

For now I'll just steal your photos and covet that which I cannot have! ;):p

Kinda surprised at the comments on the Mini MoJo, I guess the FS forums aren't read as much as this one. I do have one left and would like to move it.

Now THAT would just be cheating!! :D;) ...Besides, would it still be 3/8" thick once the coating came off and the satin finish was applied??? The tan coating with the snakeskin is sweet...definitely my favorite of the two coated combos! :thumbup:
 
I agree. Don't have that Tan/SS striped, keep it original. Just keep looking for a satin OD. It may take awhile, but you'll track one down eventually.

Everyone's hand smoothed G-Rex satin OD's are safe (at least from my grubby fingers)! It's gotta be snakeskin or nothin'!!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

If yours is 3/8" thick now, then you would lose a bit, but really, I wouldn't if I had yours. I'd want to, but these are so uncommon, I'd want to keep it as is. I like yours a lot... Figured that it would be the combo I'd hopefully land someday right up to the day I was offered this satin snakeskin one as yours is my 2nd favorite combo of the OD. :thumbup:

Some day, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but somewhere down the line if you ever feel like trading, please let me know! :p;)

As it stands, I don't think I'd give in to temptation. As much as I'd like to, these things ARE beautiful, and I'd be hard pressed to mess with a good thing.
