Seriously though... I dropped off his prize from my recent Giveaway. As many of you know, it was NOT a Kershaw and he appropriately filed it without even looking at it
And, as luck would have it... he just happened to have a few items for me to look at. (The real reason I was there... just kidding). One item I saw and can relate to you is the new RAM we have been very eager for. I carry a custom RAM, and I was more than a little curious to compare. In a nutshell, they have done a fantastic job with this new knife... and I think there are many who will prefer the feel to the custom. That's good news, since we are talking about a sub $100 retail knife, right? The design is faithful to the original and I can see that the Hawks new RAMII custom has even adopted some of the Kershaw modifications. One thing about the custom is that, even though the action is super fast and smooth, it tends to talk a lot.... lots of clicky noises which actually just gives it character and is really sort of the nature of the beast with it's custom tolerances. The production has less noise, and has a very authoritative thwack when opening. Very nice. I'm not going to compare one to the other... other than to say that many will prefer the Kershaw's action. You have to try hard not to be able to flip this knife. It's that easy. This is fast becoming a favorite model of mine... and despite the custom, I can't wait to get one or more of these. This is coming soon, so I won't say much more... you'll see for yourself. Thank you Thomas for taking a few minutes with me and good luck at SHOT!!! From the rest of what I saw, Kershaw has some exciting stuff on the horizon!!!!!!!
(nice new brochure concept too, great photography)
