Thomas,.....on the admittedly small sampling (19) of the ZT 0200 and ZT 0200ST i've had to pleasure to own & examine,......i couldn't help but notice none had a serial number over 1,000. The sample of ZT 0200 i'm using as an EDC is number 0932,......about the highest numbered one i recall in my group. My ZT 0200ST is number 0478 , and both selected by me for a noticable extra bit of spring in the liner lock, and both lined up pretty near center in the blade.

But as none of my examples breached the 1,000 piece mark,.....i was a bit curious as to whether this run of ZT 0200's ended at just 1,000 pieces each of both the plain blade and partially serrated versions.

BTW,....all of my samples were made in July of '07

If these were limited to 1,000 pieces each,.....it would seem a very small number considering their intended market of police, military, emt's, fireman, and folks like me appreciating a top notch and useful product.

I suspect you do subsequent runs of various models based on inventory levels and demand,........so just a bit curious what inventory level you drop to before another "batch" comes down the line?

BTW,.....if any of this is beyond your's or KAI's desire to "share" with us,.....i understand. Never want to poke my nose where it doesn't belong.

joe, you could probably just use one thread for all the 0200 questions/comments. It might make it easier for newcomers to find all the info in one place, rather than looking in four or five different threads.

Welcome to the forums, its good to have you!

Thanks,....hadn't thought about it like that............

.......especially since Dann opened up a "new" thread announcing he recieved it today! :D

Seriously,...do you really want a thousand comment thread over dozens of topics regarding a single model?

I have a feeling that the ZT 0200 model is going to "catch on like wildfire" here pretty soon, so I imagine that they'll be alot more "ZT 0200 threads" popping-up pretty soon anyway.:D.

I suspect every thread you post in will become a ZT 0200 thread. ;) :D
As popular as they look like they will become, I hope I can get around to picking one up before they are all gone.

I'm actually going to order a ZT 0500 M.U.D.D. knife,......not that i need one , mind you,....

.......i just WANT one! ;)

They look to be well made also,.....and the resistance to the elements intreagues me.

...........but as i haven't got one yet,......you'll have to put up with the ZT 0200 posts.:D

..........coming soon to a gun or knife store near you.( i wish that were true)

Note quite sure why this "hearty" ZT line of knives hasn't built up a larger dealer network yet,.....as i found NO dealers listed in several states,......and especially right here in New York State.

They don't know what they're missing....................

I'd LOVE to able to take them all out for a spin before deciding on any others,.......maybe someday.

Have you tried out the ZT 0301 or 0302?
Another amazing knife, and talk about solid...

Not yet,.....no local dealers carring these or any other ZT knives. These are very similiar looking,.....and have the AO feature,..........but for some folks at almost double the price of the ZT 0200 they may be out of reach.

..........which is why, to me,......the manual opening flipper model is such a STEAL!

I'd like to check out all the ZT knives, sooner or later. Of course then I would probably REALLY feel the need to buy them. Kershaw just has too many new knives that interest me in the pipeline.

In the Feb '07 "Knives Illustrated" magazine the article on Kershaws latest tactical folders included several pages of pics and writeup on the ZT 0200.

In one of the pics you could make out the date and serial number:

May '06 , serial # 0080

I wonder how low the initial run of these was?

Anybody out there have a ZT 0200 that broke serial # 1,000 ?

I have one, arrived today. It's 0973. Unfortunately mine needs to go home to Kershaw. Might come back as a different knife.

Ummm,.....just thought i'd ask,........you're not sending it back because the assisted opening is not working,........???

............because it doesn't work on any of them!!!! :D

Perhaps you're wanting a "Baby" ZT 0200? ;)
