Thomas W. Is The Man...

Blues might never be the same with that ELMAX good ness in the FRP. :D
Morrow is right, Blues has a very nice assortment of knives.

See my sig......:D

Is Thomas trying to convert Elliott to modern knives?

Well, when I was about 6 or 7 my grandfather got me interested in knives. They were traditional slipjoints. As I grew older I got into more modern knives and acquired quite a few during my years as an LEO. When I retired from law enforcement and moved up here to NC I sort of gravitated back to traditionals, especially with the added push I got from my brother, Gus (Bastid).

However, now that Gus and I have left the day to day moderation of the Traditional forum to others, I've recently been rediscovering many of my dusty "modern" knives.

Bottom line: I love knives and I'm not ashamed to admit it. ;) I've had a love affair with them for about 50 years or so now.
(You can see some of the evidence by visiting the "home page" listed in my profile which links directly to my albums.)

I appreciate all the good words and comments, folks.

You're very right, Purple...That's why I asked Thomas in advance if it was okay for me to express my thanks publicly on this forum. He didn't have a problem with it and I think that folks with generosity of spirit deserve to be recognized.

(Of course generosity shouldn't be mistaken for weakness. I've been around these parts a good while and know how hungry the sharks can get. ;))

sweet deal man. And congrats on the knife. Im sure it will serve you well. Now all we have to do is get you into a KVT flipper. Then you will be one of us. (cue maniacal laugh)

Well, other than one balisong, this is the only "flipper" in my collection...received directly from my good friend Kit Carson several years ago and built entirely of Daryl Meier damascus:

Not sure if additional flippers are on my radar screen at this juncture but if they turn up I have a good idea which company's product I'd look to. ;)

Oh my God Thomas, you've ushered in the apocalypse! :D

Seriously, very cool. Elliott, they are beasts, but very well made knives.

Blues, I am with you bro! I was hit was his generosity as well :p In almost the same manner haha [I was envious about my friends finding Tilts while I lost out on finding/having pre-orders come through], and Lo- and behold, he straight up asks me if he could fill the void. I actually thought it was a joke/not real at first; just like those people in disbelief at winning the lottery ;p. I have a gaw on my YT channel + a "greener" forum going on atm, I plan to end it next week if people are interested in joining. Part of it was in honor of Mr. Thomas W, and to keep the karma going I had bought a Kershaw brawler [for the YT gaw], and the Kershaw RJ1 for the other forum gaw. If your interested you can msg me about it. I don't want to thread jack Blues anymore :p

Thomas is awesome. We've all been hit with his generosity in some way, even if only by the gift of his snarky comments and quick wit. I'm glad that he's stuck around when it sounded like he was leaving here! I'm surprised just how much he's been around with all the Blade prep.

He has the gift of being able to diffuse a situation when someone is legitimately having an issue but can read and figure out when someone is just a troll in need of bashing. Good, bad, or indifferent Thomas always seems to just say what is on his mind...although sometimes there may be a lot to be read in to his silence. With so many "fake" people, it's great to see Thomas be unapologetic and just be himself. Although I suspect he now finds me quite irritating, but I'm not going to apologize for who I am either :P I am a lot more outgoing and obnoxious here though and quite reserved in person.. this is my outlet when I need a break from work and seeing all new knives and his witty comments is a nice break.

Everyone raise a glass for Thomas!

You're gonna love the 055x's. I always thought the ZT line wasn't for me . . too tactical, too clunky, too ugly, but when i got my hands on an 0550 i fell in love instantly. It's an elegant knife for inelegant tasks.
