Thong Tubing Question

I am working on my second knife and am getting ready to start drilling holes for the pins and thong tubing. I have some stainless rod in 1/8" and 1/4" that I can use for the pins but I went to a couple of places today to see if I could find some stainless tubing, but had no luck. I did find some aluminum tubing.

Will the aluminum tubing hold up well or will it be the weak point of the knife?

Trace at usaknifemakersupply carries both1/4 and 3/16 in stainless- worst comes to worst see if someone has fuel line supply 1/4
 
I get mine from Tracy too. Not to be a commercial, but you really can't go wrong buying from him.
 
Thanks fellas! I will see if I can find some stainless tubing at the auto parts store. I really don't need anything else because I already have 1095 on hand and pin material. When I get ready to order stuff again I will make sure I check out Tracy.
