Thor's Handshake - Integral Damascus Bowie by Derrick Wulf, JS

I really like this ! Very different approach to any "frame" tang I've seen. Fantastic all over
Cheers Keith

Man, I like this. Very creative Derrick. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. The sheath and pic are obviously exceptional as well.

Thanks for sharing Roger!

Wow! The Damascus and wood handle are beautiful. Congrats, Roger!

Paul sent me his trademarked 'knife on a deerskin wrap' shot, and I was like... Ummmmm, OK.

Then when it arrived I was like "MMMMMMMmmmmmm! OK!"

I'm not sure if I understood the flush remark correctly: If the material WAS flush, the handle would NOT fit the hand so well.

As it is it's got some 'beef' to the grip. If it was flush, even with a bulge, it would not be quite as substantial in the hand.

Like everything on this knife, it's intentional.

I pointed out to my son how Paul's sheath has a creature from the plains and a creature from the depths of the ocean--both combine to make it superb.

Derrick has skills. Roger has good taste. Thanks to any for the props.

Good thread!

Very cool Roger. Great work Derrick.

That is really nice, all around. For what it's worth, on a knife like that, the way that Derrick did the scales on this is SO nice and was the right call, IMO.

what an impressively innovative approach.
this would be a really cool technique to use on a large chopper style of knife, imo.

Brother Wulf is a creative monster. I agree with John D, too - the edges of the handle HAD to be exposed the way they are, as it maintains the right flow of the material from butt to tip.

...and who could possibly argue with billf's magnificent koa?:)
