I don't need to go to Wallmart to do anything around here so I just waltzed in to the two in the area to see if they sold any of the 3 non-byrd budget knives which they have been quoted to have. Neither of them had a single Spyderco anything. I see online you can get them through Wallmart, but then again every retailer is set up that way.

Did anyone physically see the budget knives in a Wallmart location? Where were you at? Was it around Christmas time when retailers typical have more stuff to sell? I'm curious where these things are. Oh and typically Spyderco has next to zero market share around here seeing that most outfits don't have any, and when they do it's maybe 1 or 2 models. That might be another reason I didn't see any.

I live near a large city, metropolitan area. Never seen a Spyderco in a Walmart. I wonder if it's regional.

Yeah I should add that so do I. It's fairly populated around here with lots of stores in every city 10 minutes from each-other. I'm like 40mins outside of philly, 30 mins from old country knives (the only retailer within conceivable driving distance that will physically have more than 2 spydercos at any time). So I would think Wallmarts get some national priority. Maybe it is indeed a regional thing, since talking online a lot of people living out west get more stuff.

I’ve seen them in clam-shell plastic once or twice in So. Cal. Pretty sure it was a Tenacious.

there is a walmart/sams club corporate sports gear buyer/purchaser who participates on the buck forum once in awhile.

if I remember what he said on questions such as these in the past.......the store manager has some say on what is stocked...based on what sells. for example near me people dont buy knives or guns so they dont stock them. if I head a county over people there do buy both and they got both. so if you're in or near a big city or suburbs expect they likely won't or dont. out in the country side where folks use knives and buy them they'll likely have some but brands and models that sell where they are. hope that makes sense?

In Long Island, NY. Walmart carries Spyderco tenacious and what’s that larger one? Also Ontario rat 1 & 2.

^ Resilience

I've seen both, the clamshelled ones(I believe it was a Tenacious and Persistance) and the all three Tenacious-lined Spydies in the knife case by the hunting supplies at my Walmart. That was like 3-4 years ago, so I couldn't really tell you if they still have em' today. Central Pa, here.

Ya it does, but if they don't sell them ANYWHERE (around here) why would anyone hear of Spyderco but online losers who have no friends :^) ? If anyone was wondering the ones they did sell at both Wallmarts were sog, kershaw, and leatherman. All cheapies under 100$.

you can ship whatever walmart as the retailer sells on their site to your local store for pickup. I've done it with bucks and spydercos before. that solves the they dont stock it issue due to lack of sales of brand or product due to the buying habits of shoppers around ya.

There are two Walmarts within a 10 minute drive of my house. One of them has almost no knives at all, except for a few cheap Ozark Trail folders hanging on a rack. They just have an empty display case with a bunch of price stickers. The other Walmart has a completely stocked display case of sub-$100 stuff, including the Tenacious and Efficient. Then, they have another display case that has a whole pile high end Spydercos in their boxes. I didn't look through all of them, but at the top of the pile there was a digicam PM2 and a Slysz bowie priced at the full MSRP.

I guess the store managers do have a lot of sway at Wallmart if one store has no knives and the other tons. All considering they are the top physical retailer in the US and each store is worth a mil + I'm guessing the store managers are very experienced people and deserve the responsibility/say(?)

walmarts here in michigan usually always have a few resiliences and tenacious's. also a lot of rat 1's and 2's.

right next to ammo and hunting goods.

Yeah, we have 3 Wal-Marts here and I've seen Tenacious and maybe the Resilience clam shell pack at all three, locked in glass case in ammo isle.

I've seen the Tenacious before in a blister pack. I got one for christmas a couple years ago but I'm not sure I've seen them since

I'm in southern CA and have seen at least the Tenacious (and possibly another China Spyderco) in clamshell packaging behind a glass case. Also in the case were several Kershaws, some Bucks, Gerbers, Winchesters, a Victorinox SAK or two, an Ontario Rat, maybe a SOG, etc. I don't always go to Wal-Mart, only if I'm in that area. All of those were in the case the last time I was there. They also used to carry the Case large yellow trapper, but it looks like they stopped carrying those.

Someone is gonna snag that on clearance, an employee will probably hide it until it’s 75% off!

I have many times seen them both clan packed and in the case with boxes, similar packs as they use at Cabela’s also.

Unfortunately, there is never anyone with the key to the sporting goods case around so it doesn’t really matter lol.

Btw Cabela’s now sells the Alcyone and the other small budget folder (the back spacer one) in clam packs also.
