Those Wallmart Spydercos (Tenacious, Resilience, etc.)

I live in a very rural area and my Walmart has a good knife selection. They have the resilience and tenacious. They also stock about a dozen Kershaws, the Rat1 and quite a few Bucks, both fixed and folders.

What is the purpose of the Alcyone anyway? Are they slowly phasing out Byrd? I thought the 3 china knives were purposefully made to give you 3 copies of the most popular models full with a chinese alloy.

Edit: 3 DIMENSIONAL QUASI-FACSIMILEs of the popular knives. That being the size of the delica, military, and pm.

Sal made a post here recently about the Alcyone/Polestar (I think it was Sal? He sure commented on it) and the Spyderco forum has a detailed thread on the Polestar. They are, in effect, slightly better Tenacious line with US steel (minus the Resilience).

I'm in the Ohio valley in a small city. Our Wal-Mart has been selling the tenacious and resilencefor a year or so. Ive never seen them empty on the shelves. I've got to get me another tenacious soon.

Just out of curiosity, today I went to a third Walmart in our area (southwest Ohio). It had a fully stocked knife case but they had no Spyderco at all.

It was my post as I recently bought an Alcyone and really like it a lot...SG commented which is pretty cool! Unfortunately, it sounds like they're not selling well and won't be around long : /

We've got some Wal-Marts here in deep south Texas. I've seen the Tenacious and Resilience, as well as Kershaws, Gerbers, Sogs, Bucks and a few CRKTs.

I went into the Walmart in St. Augustine FL the other day and spotted a Resilience for $46. I was looking for salt water fishing supplies and picked it up also. Actually love the knife. I put my Manix2back in the drawer and carry this when I’m fishing now.

The walmart near me carries the tenacious in stock. We have a good gun shop that sells most major brands of knives. They are the only place near me that has a very good selection. Otherwise it is wally world or online

I bought a Tenacious at Walmart here in Little Rock, Arkansas, their website said they were available for pickup so I went to the knife section and they didn't have any Spyderco's on display and the sales associate said they didn't carry them. I showed him my phone showing they were available and he reluctantly looked under the counter and to his surprise there it was!

When I used to live in Oxford, PA, the walmart there had a couple of those spydercos, a rat folder, ontario pilot survival, some vics, sogs, leathermans, kershaws and gerbers. I didn't buy any, but was surprised they were there.
