thoughs please

I don't htink it's up to an M43, but I do have a hankering for big blades.
I could have ordered a standard H.I. model but with the size I like I think it would be too heavy, this one has a lot of taper an gets pretty thin so I don't think it will weigh much more than my WWII.

the handle is still in development , but the rake on the buttcap will still stay pretty much the same.

Did the pic come through as a whole page? It's gonna take me a while to learn all the bells and whistles on this machine.
Sorta almost like starting all over.;)

Mott if I were you, and this is what I did, I glued some 1/4" plywood on each side of the model and then rounded all the corners off and left the ring around the center all the way around.
I also made the butt cap obvious by cutting a groove around the area where it fits on.
I also carved a keeper on top of the butt cap because I wanted it to be a seven pointed star for the 7 directions.
It's sorta funny as the only one I've gotten that way is the very 1st one.
All the others have had multiple points, but in everything except seven.:)
And by doing that with the handle it should insure that you get a very accurate rendition of the model.
I also made another model after the 1st ones' blade warped. I didn't want the kamis doing the real one just like the model and I know how literal the kamis can be sometimes.:)

I'm still getting the YCS awls in with blunt points because that's the way the model is now. I've complained but they pay more attention to the models than me.

Mott after looking at your model a couple more times I thought you may want to take a bit of the curve out down near/at the handle. This is entirely a personal preference, its how it feels in your hand. I have found to much curve tends to make the kuk want to twist a bit upon impact. The bottom line is how does it feel to you. I really like it the more I've looked at her, real nice lines.Kinda like Angelina Jolie.

Will I think the flat is there to represent the habaki style bolster or at least that's what I took it to be.

I wonder if you might be taking too much weight off the front end? How much relief do you want on each blade reduction?

BTW, I don't know why but your dog looks familiar :)

we got the dog and our first born about the same time.
to the dog's credit(his name is Napoleon)he now puts up with an over active 3 year old(Nathan) and we can even let him next ot our newest aquisition an 8 week old baby boy(Ian),without fear of him hurting either. He'll still shred my hands when I rough house with him though.

I like the khukuri, and I like the gargoyle, but what's this about a dog? I don't see any dog....

I am willing to bet money if you send that flat-handled model we'll get back exactly the same thing only in steel, no matter what Bill tells the kamis. Hmmm ... come to think of it, maybe we shouldn't complain ... we've never sent a wooden model and got back a wooden khukuri, have we? So there is one verbal instruction they can understand....

O.K. already
I finally finished the handle, a little paint and some touch up and I'll be ready for more pics.
