Thought I'd try to do it different. (Izula handle wrap)

God...I don't think I'd have the patience to make that one! :D I can draw up a diagram easily enough however. The trickiest thing was figuring out how to start it, but once I got that down it was almost stupid simple. :)

I'd like to stick some stuff in the handle but can't think of what to put in there that's maintenance free, since I wouldn't be unwrapping it except in a real emergency.
I thought about wrapping a small piece of firesteel in it, possibly putting it inside a gutted paracord to prevent denting on the coating (as my Izula is coated). Something of the size of the mouse on goinggear ...
or a cut off Light my fire Scout firesteel ...

That would be a backup of a backup then ...

I sure would like to see that. Got to be one of the best wraps I've seen

Here ya go guys! Sketched this up:

The instructions are relatively straightforward. Direction of your edge is marked beneath each drawing. There's lots of flipping the knife over and over as you weave the handle wrap in and out of the vertical portions.

The key is to make sure you do it tight! As previously mentioned, I did the wrap as tight as I could, and then ran it under the tap to get it wet and patted it dry. Not sure if all paracord does this, but mine shrinks slightly when its been wetted, so the wrap is 110% rock solid now.

When trimming and melting the ends of the wrap, make sure you have something flat to stick to the end of the cord so it widens like a button--I used the butt of my lighter. This prevents the cord from ever pulling through. :)
