Thoughts after the Blade Show 2014

My legs are killing me!

LoL!! After the first 2 - 3 hours I had to kneel down as my feet were absolutely KILLING me!!
And the room was seriously incredibly HOT and HUMID as they only turned the air cond. on once every 20-25 min!
On Sat. I had to leave the main room... go out to an area that was cool and lay down for 15 min, then go back into the main room.
And I cut myself twice... but not badly, Friday on an Emerson that the tip just made a slight puncture, then Sat. on a hand forged knife by a maker from Nova Scotia.

Pic of me picking up my knife the ZT lotto Sat.

Lol, looks like they got half my face in that shot! Congrats on winning the chance to buy!

I agree with you on the rj his detents are crazy on some. Lee Williams had to say was super impressed with his stuff. That kickstop flipper is sick. Of course southards and burches stuff was amazing. As for productions man does spyderco have some sweet concept designs. Cold steel had that xhp recon but Demko made there booth what it was what a awesome guy. Also my feet still hurt lol and it was like hades in there on saturday. Great time though little bit of sensory overload too.

Ill add that Darrel Ralph is a super nice guy, as well as Lynn Thompson. And the elmax blur is sick! Unsuccessfully tried to buy it from the Moteng booth.

I was really impressed by a lot of what CRKT is offering. The new RMJ Tactical Chogan Woods Hawk & No Bother knife are at the top of my list. The upcoming Glenn Klecker Graphite flipper is very cool. The Ken Onion Hi Jinx was very nice, but out of my price range.

Jon Graham's mid-tech flipper was very sweet, and I enjoyed talking with him.

ESEE's new Woodlore knives are outstanding. The new Izula folder prototype was smaller than I thought, but well done. Also liked the Candiru with the new scales & sheath.

Condor has some cool stuff coming out, plus I count Joe Flowers as a friend. Wanted to buy some of their throwing knives, but the boys got in trouble with the throwing stars I bought there last year.

Spyderco is always one of my favorite stops, especially to look at the prototypes & upcoming models. Joyce is always very helpful, and wonderful to talk to. Eric Glesser answered quite a few questions on the upcoming knives & prototypes (Hawks!) for me. I really want the upcoming Firefly and Dogtag, & hope the new Brad Southard prototype makes it out.

Great Eastern Cutlery was outstanding. The ladies manning the booth were helpful & patient while I about asked them to drag half the models out.

Tom Krein is one of my favorite makers, but he was sold out by the time I found his table.

I was very happy to see Helle knives at a booth. I like a lot of their knives & it was great to actually be able to handle them. Some models I would not of considered till I held them in my hand.

Another BLADE first-timer was Pekka Tuominen. His birch bark puukko is now my new Grail. Just beautiful, and seemed to melt into my hand.

Brian Goode is a maker I don't feel gets enough recognition. Great user knives & outstanding feeling handles. Nice guy too.

Got to support your local knifemakers & I'm glad to count Andy Roy as a fellow Georgian. I've gone from wanting a Kephart to his Hiking Buddy now. Nice small fixed blade that is perfect for hikes & day trips.

Was only there two days & it all just blurred together. More important than the knives though, are the friends I have made at BLADE over the years.
