Hey guys, getting some bad news coming through the usual channels tonight, Japan has been hit by several massive earthquakes and a tsunami late this evening (afternoon there) thought this would be a good place to gather well wishes for anyone there, or anyone who's got family, or friends, or anyone at all there. Personally, I've got an acquaintance there with his young family, but my thoughts go out to anyone affected by this. There are numerous tsunami warnings in effect at the moment, Russia, Hawaii, and several others, be vigilant, be prepared, and know that my, and many others, thoughts are with you.

Be safe,
Jack

Their USAR team only just left New Zealand a couple of days ago (after they gave us great help with our earthquake in Christchurch). Now this back home.

My prayers and thoughts for Japan.

My prayers for Japan, and the whole pacific area ... especially as an warning was issued just now that another major earthquake is about to hit Japan again ...

The footage out of Japan is unreal. Luckily my friends are safe so far.

A tsunami is expected to hit Hawaii right after 3AM Hawaii time.

Prayers going out for the entire Pacific region.
I'm far from home but I just called home and told the boss that she should head uphill. We live on a river just up from the coast in Oregon. I wish I was home.:(

Oh man, hundreds of drowned bodies in Sendai, ship gone missing, a shinkansen gone missing, major explosion at a petrochemical complex in Sendai... :(

Have you guys heard anything from your friends or families in the way of updates? Hope everyones ok...

As a member (and team-leader) of our local CERT team, I have had quite alot of earthquake training, as well as tsunami training, and I really feel sorry for those folks in Japan, as they are facing hell now, and for the next few months.

Glockman; is there anything that those of us who are not trained can do to help from afar?

Tsunami warning all along the western coast of America right now as well...

Not really...Just keep your eye on the news. Also, donate $ to the Red Cross if you can.

My father in law is on Kaui right now on a DOD mission and they took the jet (Gulfstream G2B) to Lahooie (sp?) on the other side of the island. All is well so far.

No damage in Oregon but it looks like Crescent city took a hit.
Nothing like what Japan got though. My God that must be pure hell for them.

Positive thoughts from the Pleasant Valley for all involved.

Daughter is with her husband stationed at Camp Zama in Kanagawa Prefecture just south (25 km) of Tokyo. We've been in touch via Facebook and cell phone. So far so good. Still a lot of concern about aftershocks.

She was born the day of the Loma Prieta earthquake and we went through the Northridge quake before moving to Tejas.

It appears to be hell on earth right now. I pray that all that have lost or have now been lost can find peace.

Thank you for your thought for Japan.

The earthquake happened in north Japan, and I live in west Japan.
So I and my family are all safe, but the situation in north Japan is too bad.
In this morning, the terrible situation is more known.
Probably, over 1,000 people was dead by the earthquake and tsunami.

Also Tokyo(capital city) was shook and almost all traffic had been stopped yesterday, but now many of them began to move.

Nobody knows when and how accidents will come.
So please take care.

Best Regards,
KYJ
