Thoughts for Japan

The pictures emerging are just horrible.

First floods in Queensland, then earthquake in Christchurch, now the worst earthquake in over a hundred years in Japan. All just this year!

Power failure at US army base
Water is alive but unavailable to drink
Phones are difficult to connect

(Unconfirmed, only from Japanese community site)

Prayers going out to all affected in Japan, as well as the Pacific rim. I also want to comment on what I heard on a cable news channel, and IMO is probably going to happen is that disaster victims will not have to deal with anarchy, looting, and crime as we had in New Orleans. They still practice honor, and that is commendable.

We just made a donation to the Red Cross this afternoon, hopefully rescue efforts will be able to get to these people and help them quickly. I could not imagine what it must be like to be there and trying to survive right now. The photos on the news broadcast just don't seem real.
We will definitely keep the entire country in our prayers.
Be safe.

The distribution of foods, drink water, and blanket starts for people who survive and take shelter.
Now special teams began to rescue the people who left at high places(above the flowed water) in the area.
But still a lot of people are isolated.
There are still many these area where rescue team can not bring close.
It is the most stumbling block now.
Not only the destruction of road, but also flowed water is still there and prevents the rescue team.

I think that rescue team is planning how to reach the area, include using more helicopter or special landing boat.

One more serious problem is the nuclear plant in the area.
I heard the news that cesium was detected near the plant, and it means that the nuclear reactors may go to bad situation.
Difficult situation continues though a special staff corresponds.

Japanese government researched and stated that the explosion of nuclear plant is only blowing off the outer wall.
So the core capsule for nuclear reactor is safe and still effective.
It is rather good news in this situation.

Measurements of the radioactivity also stop at a constant level now.

We use phrases like "solid as a rock" but really, rocks aren't all that solid. They shake and fall.

From a survivor of the Christchurch quakes to all those affected by the Japan quake - you all have my deepest sympathy. I know what you are going through (though you have it much, much worse - I didn't have a billion tonnes of water smack into my city) and I know it's all just so unfair.

A lot of countries would declare help of Japan, and special rescue teams would come to Japan.

I want to say thank you very much sincerely from Japan.

I never forget this terrible earthquake, and also, I never forget warm hearts from many countries, of many peoples.

With my(and our) deepest gratitude,

My thoughts and prayers go out for Japan. I lived there for four years and enjoyed it and the Japanese people very much. Their inner strength and resilience will serve them well in this catastrophe.
