I do it the same way I did before the format change. I copy the IMG link (it's the fourth one down in the list of "share this photo" links to the right of the picture. Then I paste it directly into my reply.![]()

PS: I wanted to insert a picture, it didn't work as it used to be on the old forum design.
I chose image and entered a photobucket url, but there is no photo visible.
How do you do this now?

I'm glad it worked for you.Thank you r8shell, the insert link with the second one down worked good
(now I just have to find out how to get away the three IMG's, even if they aren't visible in the working layout).
The electrician is a fine knife of yours! What for is this little plate near the bolsters, between the knife and the saw?
Guess I've seen this before on single bladed knives (a houndstooth or a #85), but couldn't figure out its function.
I've had a few in acrylic, and not kept them long because I just don't like it that much. However, in terms of "holding up," it's probably just about as tough or on par with Micarta.
Thanks for all the replies! Some good looking knives in there as well! I decided to go ahead and get the acrylic 48... being delivered today!
I'm necro-ing this thread from just shy of a year ago to get updated opinions (also many of the pics are dead, thanks to photo bucket, so any updated pics would be more than welcome!).
Don't like it much from an aesthetic point of view? or functional?
Updates on this, since it's the knife I'm considering?
I dont think it's sacrilegious in the slightest. In the old days, they used celluloid to get similar effectsalthough I feel like I'm committing sacrilege,
I love acrylics. You get all the beauty and variety of celluloid, without the negative effects.

I am literally a kid in a candy store looking at these acrylic covers. Beautiful collection.

I had the exact opposite reaction. The burnt Orange stainless 15 was the only GEC that I couldn't wait to get rid of. It just seemed thick, cheap, plastic, glop.Funny you should bring this back up, just the other day I was telling someone that, although I feel like I'm committing sacrilege, I actually like the tortoise shell acrylic better than the burnt orange jigged bone, which had previously been my favorite knife. I think a lot of the acrylics I don't like are purely aesthetic. Functional is great - it's super durable. Tortoise shell is one of the acrylics that I think looks good.
