Say Heah Boys and Girls, Happy Summer. This is the time of year that the Axe is yanked and a long knife is put in the game. Lemme explain, I like to Scout new areas and Bushwhack , Clearing through the Brambles, a long knife is what I take instead of a axe type of chopper because I don't need to process as much wood to keep warm to begin with, I initially bought my BK-4 as a chopper disregarding the machete in the name until recently. I finally connected the dots and put two and two together. After all it is called the Machaxe. As a chopper no doubt my BK-9 chops better, and as a machete, My Parangatang is longer and I like that better. But when I teamed my BK-4 with a smaller blade, which is one of my preferred carries unless I do a One Tool Option, or go on a extended trip then I will take the appropriate knives. But as a large knife, I'm finding out the BK-4 Shines. The curved part of the blade slices great and I find doing the fine stuff the BK,-4 handles that too, Oh and I could baton with it too. But since I use a 2Knife carry, Just because the BK-4 doesn't look like a conventional large knife, I used it more like a chopper. I could get artistic and team my BK-10 with it which it also does a great match-up with the BK-9. But a few weeks ago, I teamed my BK-4 with my BK-2 and I was impressed, Actually both complimented eachother. All I did was add my Wicked Tough Saw and I had a great time because I was able to do everything I needed to do. Sure I could of teamed my BK-4 with alot of other smaller knives, But as it was I took my Mora 510 as my neck knife so I had all my bases covered. Sounds too easy, But all I did was sharpen both my 2 and 4 on my Work Sharp and Blip, Blap, Blam I did it. Oh, If you want a BK-4 and or a BK-5 do it soon, I understand they discontinued them. So if you can still get one, I think both will be collectors, Fisk and Becker collaborated on the BK-5 I actually like mine since I do like Choils especially on larger blades. Again, Happy Summer.
