Anyone have experience with these blades? I am considering one but have never put hands on any CF products. I have been impressed with what I read about them though.

Love the designs and ergos. Just never heard much chatter about them here.

Maybe because it's extremely difficult to get one? Last time I emailed them I was informed that the lead time for a knife was between 6 and 12 months.

I found their fixed blades to be the most uncomfortable knives I have handled , felt way too blocky and not very ergonomic. Built like tanks , but unfortunately handle like one as well.

WAAAAAAAY too tacticool for my taste. Just a step away from dork ops IMO.

"Fear is for prey"

"Too Close for missiles; switch to knives"

Give me a break. Most of those suckers are sitting on a mall ninjas desk.

You may well be correct. That doesn't preclude them from being great knives though. (Disclaimer: I know nothing about Crusader Forge or their knives)
You're letting their marketing/advertising decide for you. That's unwise, wether your decision is positive or negative.

I for one would like to see a fair review of a CF folder. I like the looks of them.

A friend of mine got a medium sized fixed blade (don't know the name of the actual knife) a while back when they were under the Trident knives name. It was a pretty chunky knife and rather uncomfortable to use but wearing gloves did help it feel a bit better. Other than that there was nothing really wrong with it, the sheath set up was pretty good and the F&F seemed fine although I don't know how much he payed for it.

no expert here but i have 2 of the folders. i agree that they are really overbuilt in the extreme. the quality is very very good but weight & ergonomics are detrimental to a using knife. mostly mine are for shock & awe. i guess it was curosity that pushed myself to buy.sometime if Knarfeng desires i may ship one to him to be tested for edge retention teats.

I never seen them before. The folders look like tanks and have some nice blade shapes. Not so sure how the grip would feel without holding one, it appears that the grooves may be a little deep and uncomfortable.

If a company feels the need to do false advertising, good product or not I will have nothing to do with them. It is a moral standard. I am sure Ill survive with the many companies that dont make ridiculous claims.

A review is a matter of personal opinion. What should matter to you is your opinion after having handled one in person.

I had a few friends that own them , rave about them and love them. The ones I have handled ( fixed blades and folders ) that friends own , and at local shows and also at a gun store here in town that carries them , my feelings after handling them are :

handles too blocky ( as other have mentioned - brick like in appearance , and felt the same - some things you don't need to wait for a review on if you have handled enuff similar looking knives )
uncomfortable - felt the texturing was too overdone , raised many hot spots
blade : way too thick to cut very well ( they may chop , but the edge geometry I observed won't make them great slicers ).

They are well made and would serve you well if they feel good to you , I just don't care for the blockiness in the design , to me a handle should be round and comfortable.

Best thing to suggest is handle them , then form your own opinion. Just because they are not right for me , doesn't mean they won't be right for you.

I had to sand and grind down the handle shape to get my 5 inch Trident fixed blade comfortable. I got rid of the "step up" (grinder) and toned down the grooves in the g-10 (sanded). I also had to make the grind of the edge the same from the choil to the belly of the blade. I like the knife but there was def. some issues before I loved it. Pricey for a work on knife.

I thought the same thing. :p

It made me think of something I read the other day about how Strider make their knives: "We take a piece of metal and grind off EVERYTHING that doesn't look like a knife!".

It looks like in the case of Crusader Forge they take a piece of metal and grind off everything that doesn't look like a brick. :D:D

Seriously though, I'm strangely attracted to those chunks of metal.
