here are some pieces I picked up from the Creek Ganza.. Saturday was Wild! all gone in 15 seconds... COMMENT ON THIS> When a bunch of people are wanting the same knifes. such as SNFOs, something needs to be done about hogging the knives. some thoughts:
Option 1. If your buying from a particular table of very desirable knives. give out a lottery # when you come through the door regarding Your placement in line to be read out in Lottery format, and everyone can come buy thier 1st choice then after ALL have picked their first, then move on to 2nd ,3rd and so forth. from the HIGH demand table
Option 2. SPREAD all desirable knives (such as SNFO combat grade)out over a variety of tables so one person can NOT grab 4-5 knives of one type ( this also apply to Proxy buyers who are getting knives for "4-5 people")
Option 3. Do the Jerry thing: from what I hear, at the last Atlanta Blade show, he would pull out one at a time, and the one who was the most movitaved got to buy it at Jerry's descrepancy.
AND FINALLY:
OPTION 4: Let all come armed with thier favorite Busse, and the last one left standing to get that knife to the girls Alive gets to buy it.
Anyways just thoughts. here are some goodies that I picked up after both days of getting their at the beginning and getting in position: "I'm afraid that Resin man will have pics of me that he can blackmail me with "

That satin with black micarta mags on the SFNO is my Grail knife! Beautiful.

It reminds me of the old days of 'open seat' concert tickets....MAYHEM! I think Option #1 & 2 work most fairly..

OPTION 4!!!

WOW... Thanks for the pics! I love that blk blk/red FSH...

No buy, sell, or trade offers in this forum thank you.

What the....., that's a 2 year haul for me :D

Great choice of blades

And I like the options where more people get a chance to score a "most wanted"

FSH ENVY ............... Pumpkin Proto .......... Can't believe I didn't go there last ganza.

Man your certainly making up from being away ............

I have a system to suggest. Tape the knife number to a basketball and let us jump for it!

Some good observations.

Proxy buying should be illegal. If you take the time and effort to travel to a show, someone five states away shouldn't be snagging your INFI.

No regrets for me though.

My trip to the Gold Manor trough was very rewarding.

If that ever happens I'll take what you don't want Mike:D

Thats a nice haul of nice Blades! Sell me that satin/snake BATAC if your tired of it already:p

Nice score there fbusmc. Like the HR especially.

Don't know how it would be possible to control the buying up of such blades as the SFNO. Jerry must know the big buyers out there pretty well by now so if he's selling lots of a particularly sought after knife to one guy then i'm sure there's a good reason. From reading between the lines there seems to be a fair amount of behind the scenes trading and selling of blades and at reasonable prices it's just a matter of getting into the 'loop'.

I know there's a few absolute scoundrels that abuse the post show or ganzaa market. I hope the recent load of ganzaa have reset the market prices back to a reasonable level.

Amazing haul for just two days...!! You scored some awesome blades:cool:

WOW! Very nice group of knives you've got there. Congrats!

Those FSHs look awesome, especially the Sage, man I really like that combo on the FBM and FSH.

I'm sure that all of these ideas have been brought up before. I'm sure that Jerry has considered them all before.

If I had to watch the tables, I would want all high end & extremely popular knives together to keep an eye on them. This show the spreading them out thing would probably have worked because most attending were known to the Crew, and are an honest bunch, but at a main KC event or BLADE, I'd be more hesitant to spread them all over. Heck, at BLADE last year SIX PEOPLE tried to walk off with knives not paid for. I believe that ALL SIX were not known to Busse, and just at the show... MOST of the six 'thought' Jerry was just giving away knives... If you can believe that! I heard many other onlookers ask if that was what Jerry was doing. It does, to the casual onlooker, look like a big giveaway.

I feel that the lottery system would take a long time, at least IMO... You gotta make sure everyone interested knows the rules, gets a ticket (or half a playing card as many custom knife makers use), then give the crowd enough time to check their ticket... Then THEY have to verify the ticket, then the 'winners' have to get time to decide if they want the item in question, etc. It would take Jerry & Crew all weekend to sell at least 1/4 of what is normally available, IMHO. Because of last year @ BLADE, I would think that Jerry will not want to pass the knives out into the crowd this year, so I don't know how they are going to want to do it at BLADE'08...

Let's face it, doing battle won't happen either, LOL

This is a HOG eat HOG world, But this is the only time us HOGs go HOGwild, the rest of the time most of us try to help their fellow HOG catch a break or score INFI.

This is the way of the Trough...

With all of that said & out of the way... NICE SCORE!!!!! :D:thumbup::thumbup: Thanxx for the pix!

It is not your INFI until you score it & pay for it.

Jerry is in the business to sell knives. Making proxy buying "illegal" is not right. It's also not the HOG way. A fellow HOG was willing to proxy for me at the Manor... Did I get all the knives that I really wanted? NO. Do I seriously appreciate his help in scoring some others for me? HELL YES!! ...For instance, I really wanted any SFNO and a certain BATAC , but NO REGRETS. :) I got some other sweet INFI and I'm very appreciative for the assistance & patience from this very cool HOG who will remain nameless... And would still be, even if he had scored nothing for me. When I heard that the show was going to be held at a hotel instead of Knob Creek, I really wanted to go but last minute airfare was ridiculous in price, especially considering that my next trip (to BLADE) is only 6 weeks off... And the 22-24 hour round trip drive in a truck I didn't fully trust to not let me down en-route, not to mention driving alone really didn't appeal to me either... What about our overseas HOG's who have even less options?
I will continue to try to find proxies going to events I can't make and will happily not only hook them up with shots at BLADE in one case, cigars in another case, or cash, but will absolutely proxy for them if they ever need the favor returned in the future.

this is NOT an option. we are hogs of the round trough.

+1 ... What HE said.

All JMHO; YMMV...

Most of these options are far too civil for Hogs. I have noticed a trend among the more green show attendees to want more structure to the free for all, I say nay. Some of you guys would have fainted at some of the grabs made a few Blade shows ago. I think this forum may have doomed our old guard Hog ways, too many new piglets choking up the trough. :D Jerry has little choice but to acquiesce to some of the pleas made to him. I do have to say that what Jerry did at the last Blade made a good deal of sense in the aftermath of several blades walking away with the folks thinking they were free. Proxy buyers are cool in my book, if I am there you won't have a chance to snag what I am after anyways. :)
