Thoughts on l-6 and w-2 steel

Can anyone give me their thoughts on L-6 or W-2 steels. I have read how tough L-6 is but know very little about anything else. Same goes with W-2 steel. What type of knife would use either of these steels? How is edge holding, corrosion resistance, etc....? Can you sand/bead blast either steel? Can you acid wash and stonewash finish these steels? Thanks.
