Hello everyone! I recently aquired a new Scrap Yard Scrapper 6 in a trade:D. The knife is brand new and the coating has been scrapped off and the blade polished. I just wanted to know what all of you think about this knife! The blade will be here soon.

I love the handles. There some of my fav. out of anything. feel great in your hand.

Its a tough little knife. I've put mine through alot....need a pry bar? I grab a scrapper 6 (if you dont have said pry bar). Its a thick little beast with a stout tip.

I have a few more, but basically I tore apart a set of steps, a small deck and plunged it throug a fan box....no damage but of course some coating ware.

i prefer the busse brand and really like the sar-4. who make this "scrapper" that you speak of?

I only ever had the dumpster mutt. it was as tank of a knife as I've heald that was still close to being an okay knife. it was built like a larger scale killer bee.

but, as much as I love the basic series handles, the choil and the lack of hammerability on the handle side of the blade was what made me trade it out for something else.

scrapper 6 looks pretty awesome though, the choil isn't as deep and it looks to be a little slimmer on the cutting geometry. looks like a fantastic gift knife for those who have never had a real beater before.

The S6 is a favorite over on the Scrap Yard forum. The handle is slightly larger than the Dumpster Mutt's (which many folks find a bit small) -- the only thing you should be aware of, since the coating was removed, is that SR-77 is not a rust-resistant steel -- it's as tough as you could want, but you should get a marine tuff cloth to maintain it.

Thanks for all the comments guys. And I really appreciate the pics from barrabas74. I do love stout fixed blades. The Scrapper 6 is made by Scrap Yard knife company. They are an "offshoot" of Busse. Would love a Busse but price is way out of my range.

You have an outstanding knife there bud. I have had one for years and it has been through the mill. You can't go wrong for the money as long as you didn't get it from one of the mark up kings. Mine was $90.00 now they are $99.00. That's alot of knife and great ergo's for the money. I have bunged up the blade doing things I probably shouldn't have. But it's all good. It comes right back. It will last you a lifetime for sure!

They know this, some folks are just giving you a hard time because they are Busse purists and only like to talk about "real" Busse knives on this forum :D

I like all three, and plan to own a few from every company eventually, although I might have to wait until the student loans are paid off before I can afford many from Busse

I would suggest asking all your scrap yard questions over at the scrap yard forums from now on ;)

Haha:o. Thanks. Oh well. People can think what they want, but if I have a knife that I love, then Im OK. :). As for whether or not it's CG or LE. It is a CG but the coating was removed then blade polished so it looks like an LE.
