:):)Okay so i picked a spyderco native frn and i was just wondering what the thoughts on the knife comuntity think a about it:):):)

One of the very few knives with a 3" inch s30v blade that can be bought for around $50-60. That alone makes it sweet. I'll have to let others talk about the ergos since I have never held one personally.

Nice knife, I have 3 of them (SE, PE, CF). They feel comfy in teh hand no doubt, small and easy to carry too (love when people say weird, strange, off about Spydercos :)). Maintenance free since it is pinned together. For the price and steel, hard to beat.

i held a native at a gunshow once and i was really disappointed with the ergos. it and the police are the only spydercos i've ever held that didnt fit my hand well. it seemed like a nice knife i just didnt think it was very comfortable

The Native's the knife that taught me to love the index finger choil for standard grip, not just for choking up during fine work.

It's a deal-breaker for me. The grip style on this knife is choil-only. I can't get passed that. Other than that, it's a pretty sweet blade. The blade shape is great, and the steel performed VERY well.

Great high quality knife for a great price. I do not like the lack of a pivot that can be manually tightened, because it gets loose after use. I had one that was re ground by Tom Krein. My sisters boyfriend is a knife nut, and I gave him that one. He loves it, and uses it all the time. Sharpening may be an issue though :o.

does that really work

Yeap. Done that myself after carrying native for over a year. It was my only EDC knife at that time. It developed a bit of a blade play when I abused it prying open a car window.

When you hammer it, the key is not to over do it, otherwise you might end up with knife being too tight.

I have 6 or 7 Natives in various flavors. The S30V Native is my favorite for carry.

If you attempt to hammer a pinned knife. I recommend doing several small strikes using a punch die (whatever they are called). This way you can focus the energy of the hammer on the exact point.
Before that you can contact Spyderco and they will look it over, unless of course you beat the crap out of it.

I am very surprised at the amount of people that have a problem with the ergo's. I held one in a shop a while back and found it extremley comfortable, fit like a glove. I guess its a love or hate kind of knife, I think if you are one of the people that like the ergos, then you will like the knife alot.

Considering the price it is the great knife.I have mine for more that four years. I used to edc it for about six month, than it was replaced with Caly3. Not it is resident car-knife.
What can I say, S30V is great steel, ergos are great as well. I love choils. I am not crazy about swedge and hollow grind. Strongly prefer FFG Native4.
