Thoughts on the Bear Grylls Multi-Tools

After having two Suspensions break at the locking mechansim, within a couple weeks of each other..... I don't buy the Gerber's anymore. The offshore models especially SUCK with a capital S. A couple of my friends had more expensive Multi-Pliers and both of them had problems with the files, the Rem Saw, and the philips screwdrivers breaking. They were not abusing the tools either.

I have an old Gerber MPT that was made in the USA. It's 13 years old and still kicking along just fine.

I am a Leatherman fan, through and through. I've had several different models and all of them were superb.

Oooo....... blades that open from the outside and lock!

Wow, thanks for giving us what LM gave us about 10 years ago!

I do like the spring loaded pliers though - nice one, Bear me old matey. ;)

I'm not a fan of either the current Gerber offerings or Bear Grylls, so IMHO they are a perfect marriage.

You guys who are dissing Bear Grylls would love to jump out of a helicopter with him, or scale Mount Everest. Admit it. :D

...Now, if they were to make a Batman version of the Suspension then I would drop some serious cash! ;)...

Just found this on a Google search - Looks like there is a Batman multi-tool. Hats off to Shakespeare!

It's hard to take Gerber seriously anymore. I bought a Gerber Sportsman lockback for my father about 25 years ago and it recently surfaced after being lost for about a decade. That was probably the last of the 'quality' pieces out of Portland.
