Thoughts on the Buck Vantage Line of Knives?

I have the large vantage pro. Lock up is solid, blade centering is off and there is a bit of blade play. Fit and finish is pretty good but it is a bit smooth and would probably benefit from a bit of jimping. All in all it is not a bad knife for the money but im not sure id like my life to depend on it.

I picked up the Vantage Force about 18 months ago. Nothing fancy about the steel (420HC). As a matter of fact, there is nothing fancy or sexy about the knife at all. However, it has gradually become one of my favorites. Deep carry pocket clip, good ergonomics, good blade geometry, holds an edge well. And it's a workhorse, taking everything I have thrown at it. Well, almost everything. I did manage to put a small chip in the blade while chipping at some concrete a couple of weeks ago. Definitely recommend.
