Thoughts on the Case Seahorse Whittler

I love mine, and carry it frequently. The thick main blade doesn't bother me, the knife is quite a slicer as long as you're not using it as a kitchen knife.
As an EDC/ whittling knife, it's pretty awesome.

Edit: mine is caramel bone, with as ground SS blades. Definitely more of a working knife.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I've had my eye on that very knife for some time. If I can't get CV, for me as-ground is the next best thing.
 
No problem! The knife was actually a gift from my best friend, who gave it to me as a best man gift. He knows I also like carbon steel knives, so this is the next best thing in this pattern.
 
The only thing that nags me about the seahorse whittler is that the blades seem so short for the 4" closed length. I suppose that's a whittling thing, perhaps for having more control, but then I'm by no means a whittler. I have come to like serpentine patterns, and it's more about that for me.
 
A spoon maker I know says most pocket knife blades are too long and thick for his carving. His son uses a pocket knife for spoon carving but shortened and thinned the blade.
