Thoughts on the Ti-Lock

I'm curious as to how the knife has held up to harder use (if you have put it through any) because one thing I have noticed is people saying it can only be used very lightly. And by harder use, I don't mean abuse. I mean cutting open bags of concrete or cutting lots of nylon or bags of sand. Really, any situation where you get down and dirty with it.

I don't baby mine at all. I don't cut open bags of sand, but I do use it to cut out the backs of chickens. The worst that happens with hard use is surface scratches on the handle.

I did a couple of searches as to warranty repair and "real" problems with the Ti-lok. For many years there was nothing but imagined difficulties or personal preference complaints. Within the last year or so I found two instances, neither one gave specifics about the problem. One has already been reported in this thread as abuse by someone else. That's a pretty good reputation for a knife that's been out for 5 years being sold to OCD knife knuts :)

People who baby their Ti-lock are missing out on a great blade and unique design.

It is a truly great blade. As said before, most issues have something to do with personal preference, has nothing to do with quality.

Lock works super, and the blade has an outstanding size compred to the handle
Get one, you wont be sorry

Uh oh. Blowpop. Is it not for you?

Well now that you mention it... its actually my favorite edc! I have only had it for about a week but man is it awesome. I was just waiting til I had more time with it to give my thoughts, which I will do in a couple weeks.

So far it is the best edc I have had, and I've had a lot of knives over the last couple years. Picking up a lanyard and bead for it since I like it so much.

I will post up pics sometime soon.

Alright so happy to hear that. If u like it now wait until it grows on you and get some character. I also liked mine a lot and now I can't really carry much else .
I was worried u got it, returned it and you were to distraught to discuss it. 😁

So compared to the 940 you are pleased?
Also it will smooth out a bit too.

It will not outwork a 940. But no doubt will the lock likely outlast the benchmade.

I'm a little confused by these two sentences. Do you mean the lock will outlast the Axis Lock or do you mean the CRK will outlast the BM? Or both lol? I guess what I'm getting at is if you're using the two for different uses, it shouldn't really come as a surprise if the one seeing lighter use holding up better over the long run?

Compared to the 940 I think they both perform about the same, if not a slight nod to the ti lock. Based on what I have used it for so far, I think it actually will outlast the benchmade overtime.
Ergonomically I perfer the ti lock as well, and I think that the locking mechanism is actually more fun than an axis lock. It took a few days to get used to but its now becoming 2nd nature.
It also just feels like the more special knife, it has soul to it.

Its gonna be put through the ringer though ;)

I'm sorry I meant that in my opinin the ti will not be tougher or slice much better than a 940. But I feel the lock will outlast the omega lock over time.

I struggled a bit with one handed deployment at first, but now that I've got that down the Ti-Lock has become one of my absolutely favorite knives.

Great pic of that knife! Really wish i could CLOSE my TiLock with one hand. Opening it with one hand is no problem though.

It just takes practice, you can do it with pretty low effort once you figure out the angles to apply preasure towards.

Well crap. I just always thought my first CRK would be a plain jane large 21. But I have really wanted to save longer for a Damascus UG. Although I am really attracted to the Ti-lock.

I have purchased many knives in the past just because they were odd or unique in some way. Most of them overpriced discount brands. So I would absolutely LOVE to add a high quality unique knife to my collection or rotation.

This thread has made me watch a bunch of YouTube vids of the Ti, and now I want one more than ever. Thanks a bunch people. My wife is going to kill me, because I've just purchased another ZT and a few Spyders. Dangit.

Awesome knife, and much tougher than I expected. Intersting enough the more I see other knives, the more that I like this one. Definitely unique, and I like that.

I use to have a Ti-Lock but sold it to fund other projects. It has been one of those knives that I really have missed since it left. Very smooth and fun to open/close knife. Great pictures in this thread. I may have to start the hunt for a new one.
