Thread for the Biscuit, The Moose, and the Kilt(Bladite)

A friend of mine has the Emberlit. I can't imagine anything beating its effectiveness for how little space it takes up in a pack.

Ok, so this is an older thread I realize, but I'm bumping it looking for some more help...

I'm looking now for a nesting mess/cook set. I remember some nifty kits at the gathering, if anyone can kick in some help?

I've been looking for a solid mess kit as well....

I use my jetboil quite a bit and i really like it, although my ignitor stopped working. I am still looking for an effective stove for -20C and below. I used my jetboil a couple weekends ago when i stopped for tea and i had to hold the cylinder in my hands to get it to boil. I know liquid fuel stoves are better for cold but i hate fussing with them. I'm not always in a place i can burn stuff either.

stanley adventure pot fits in a glacier or oilcan cup - and the lid fits the glacier cup as well. with a little creativity, you could make a twig stove that fits inside, or possibly store an alcohol burner in it.
Coleman max kit is 2 pots and 2 cups that nest.
wally world grease pot will hold a 500g isobutane bottle and primus stove
Esbit makes a cool little nesting kit with alcohol and solid fuel stove and a cookpot.

My way is either a trangiawith the ESBIT STAINLESS STEEL POT STAND boils 500ml (16 oz) in about 5 1/2, 6

Or evernew burner with cross stand (5 5:30 max but more sucetible to wind)

My cookpot is the snow peak Ti-Mini Solo combo this nests in a klean kanteen 40oz or a nalgene 32oz

And all that mess nests in a maxpedition 10 x 4 with a tin can case holding the burner

Not planning on using the stove too much. I have a MSR Pocket stove. Plus mostly going to be using a campfire more.

Not a reason to apologize! I wasn't sure about all this stuff when I got my MSR. I mainly am going to just be making coffee and the such, little stuff. So I didn't really think I needed anything more than this.

These are good options to give my mom and sister though. They are trying to put together BOB/SHTF bags and wanted something a bit sturdier than the MSR.

The Trangia is truly bombproof good for Becker likers...

Once i drooped it on top of a tree-house 3 to 4 meters tall nothing happened to it, good has new...

for a good cup and bottle combo there is:

But if you already have the bottle there is the GSI Outdoors Glacier cup 18 oz size but usefull space is only 15 oz

And if you dont mind aluminum the Olicamp hard anodized space saver mug gives you 24 oz 21 usable size

Primus by far is you are not using gas canister stoves, it has better anodizing and is a bit thicker so wont dent that easy

The other only is better with your pocket rocket, because most alcohol stoves dont benefit from the heat exchanger

good stuff, keep it coming

and yeah the jetboil can pack in its french press nicely
