Thread Locker ??

why???????
When I was plowing snow, we used Teflon tape on everything to keep it from siezing with corrosion. It was great for that and not nearly as messy as Anti-Sieze. Although I don't recall ever having a bolt back-out, I don't think it really did anything to ensure a better grip. BUT...it would allow you to get the bolt tighter, initially, as this is its function when used on pipe-joints. It doesn't actually seal anything, just lubricates the threads to allow a tighter fit.

I use Teflon tape on the threads of my air compressor. Keeps the air from leaking and works good. Works great on plumbing too. Never thought to use it on a Knife pivot. Interesting Idea, and Im sure it would work in a pinch, but I think I'll stick with the Blue.

Thanks for the feedback!

Just out of curiousity, SIFU1A, what knife are you using it on, and what part? The pivot? backspacers? pocket clip screws? etc.?

have used on the pivot only on BM/MT/EKI and others, and after thinking about it i think it works better than loctite on the pivot for me due to the difficulty of getting all the oil off of the pivot nut/screw, also eases dissassembly, hasnt ever not worked fine for me.

Ive never used it on a knife, but in other things that recieve use and it does tend to loosen. If I remember correctly, I believe my brother in law used it on his folder, the pivot screw, and it did not stay where it was set, loosened after a while.

You can degrease your screws with carburetor cleaner, or gun degreaser.
