Hello;
What size thread do most sheath makers use for fixed blade knives and a good place to find them. Knives will mostly be no bigger than 10 inches. Thanks

Most hobby stores carry waxed linen thread in black,white and sometimes brown ,it might not be the best but it works fine for me.

Three Rivers Archery has string used to make bow string, it's waxed, comes in a bunch of colors and it is tough stuff. Moon.

If you can't find it locally you can search ebay for 'Tandy waxed linen thread' and you'll find it for about $5 with $3 shipping (25 yards). You'll see it in the same three colors thebrain mentioned so I bet it's the same stuff. That's what I use.
