What is the minimum thickness of a blade tang that can be rounded and threaded for a pommel?

Crayola,
The thinner the material I am threading, the finer the thread pitch I try to use. Im not sure what you mean by rounded.
On my hunters,I taper my tangs very thin at the end of the handle but they are all pinned together, no screws or pommels. If I had to thread into the tang that thin, I would use either a 2-56, 3-56 or 4-40 thread.
If this is not the answer you are looking for please Email me or I will check this thread later,
Neil
EDIT: If the pommel is going to take some abuse, and the tang is thin...could you screw through the tang into the other side of the pommel?
