I,ve not read any manner those long or short micarta spacers came into existance . The red fiber spacers are earlier . Thanks for the nice photos ITE . DM

David, you haven't read it because I'm the first to offer an answer.
Nobody else has been able to come up with an answer.
As I said, I see an old one every once in a while on e-Bay that has separated a bit, so my conclusion is a logical answer and unless you find one of the workers who will hold forth with information to the contrary......you're stuck with it.
And that's the long and short of the spacer issue.

What I wrote is based on personal observation and sound logic.
I haven't seen anyone else post that conclusion before.
If you have information to the contrary, the honorable thing to do is state your case.
