Got a group of user barlows, all serviceable for pocket carry!
Micheal May Barlow- this Sheffield made Barlow has stag handles, O1 blades, and a fileworked spine. Springs are stiff, this is a heavy duty workhorse of a Barlow, ready for anything you can throw at it. That being said, it’s handmade so it’s spit and polish is a little “rustic” in some spots. Nevertheless, a gorgeous example of May’s work.
A. Wright Barlow- another nice Sheffield example, nice fit and finish, not perfect but certainly good enough for day to day use! Gator springs, and very good proportions on the blade.
Queen Drake Well Barlow- old school queen cutlery, it’s listed online as stainless, but I’m not sure what it would be. One annoying gap in the backspring, but the blades are pretty tight, this would be a good work knife
Case Barlow- some of the best Fit and finish I’ve seen on a Case knife, comparable to GEC. That being said, it’s been pocketed and carried, and the blade seems to have been stained a little, but a good polish or patina will make this a gorgeous pocket knife. Sawcut bone, almost Appaloosa colored. Definitely a barlow you could carry for the rest of your life and not wear out!
For this lot, I’m asking $135 shipped, with the majority of the value being the Mays and the Case. Feel free to ask questions or make trade offers at Prestonreed1@gmail.com.
I also have for sale,
Guttman Original Balisong- i received it as New old stock in the original box. The nylon pouch had dry rotted, but the knife is in great condition. Philippine made, with high carbon steel. Not worn in enough yet, but would make a good flipper or strong folder. White bone scales and solid construction.
Nonbranded “mini” Balisong- this Philippine made Bali has I think rosewood scales, and a high carbon blade with a lot of belly for its size. It’s a cute little knife, but it’s construction lends to a hard working pocket tool. Might be flip panel, if you have small hands, nonetheless, it locks up rock solid!
For these two, I’m asking $60 shipped.
