Love that Siru, but I'll have to pass and give the other sharks a chance.

Gotta reload on Khukuri funds...:)

Why don't you go for a clean sweep and take the KK too. I got your back on this one. One DOD, auntie only has to make one package. A win-win-win for you.

Not only that but I'm ashamed to admit I don't got 38 clams myself. Wrong side of the tracks and all ya know.

Says 3 blems, I only count 2.

Oups I just notice the Kumar Karda with the wrong pic.

Heheheh and my little spy worked although few had time to post before I got the email notification.

Might have missed out, but I put in a request for the Keshar Lal villager utility knife just now. If all works out, this will be my first HI knife! :D

I don't know how you do that Mr. Tall. I knew the pic was wrong.

That's kind of purty. My daughter was kind of jealous that I got both her brothers KLVUK's and not her. Might have to ponder something like this.

beewerks, I think there was at least one left from a DOD awhile back. It was never marked sold and I saw no post.
Wouldn't hurt to send an email to Auntie. She just might have one. Don't forget a kami sheath when you contact her. I think they are a great first khuk for anybody.

Dang you ndog, that photo got me... email sent to Yangdu for the Kumar Karda if still for take.

So what is the best rust removal product to get the job done without damaging the blade?

They are nice knives! Great for cleaning big fish! They pop them big scales off like nothing else!

I found the photo without "snooping". Just right-clicked on the wrong DOTD photo, chose "Open Link in New Tab" which brought me to the same photo at Photobucket, then I clicked on the left arrow to the previous photo (which happened to be the Kumar Karda).

:-)

The Siruapti is for me as I wanted to have a longer, faster, skinnier Khuk to compare with the others. Now my humble HI set has a good blend of different blades.

The Villager is a gift for a hunting friend.

I don't know yet what I will do with the Karda. It depends how nice it will be after the rust cleaning. If it turns out good then I'll hand it as a gift as well. Otherwise I'll keep it for me.

Hit it with 2000 grit or extra fine steel wool only where the rust is then if you can get one of those 3000grit auto body sanding pads (3M) then you can get it to almost oem finish. A new pad will give a satin finish but if you keep rubbing the same spot it will polish out.

Thanks for the advice Bawanna. Sure enough, there is one left, so I might just luck out!
