I've had some 3 " hats and the 4" brims definitly protect better. Know that movie scene very well. Watch Silverado often.

Super cool pics Mr Ferry! Growing up was full of horseback riding. I always wanted to do something competitive like this. My first horse was accomplished at barrel racing and team penning. We never competed with him though and I alway regretted it. It's been 2 decades since I've been back into it and I miss it all. But it was a fun chapter in life.

Thanks for sharing some of your work and play. It really took me back. You are involved in some cool stuff.

Sorry to derail your thread about hats, but, it's a nice derailment and thanks, I checked that site out, some pretty great looking hats there too. The brim on my Stetson is 3" and I noticed on bright days like today a bit wider would help keep that sun out more.

Hats always reminds me of the movie "Silverado" where the actor Kevin Kline was left on the desert in his longjohns'

"The only thing I lost I really cared about... except for maybe my hat.

It's a great one. Black with a pretty silver band on it.

My head spent three years training it. Sure do miss that hat."
