Three Loveless Style Hunters - Just Finished

Very nice work.

While I also like the simpler things, I find that I always have to fight the urge to "do" more. Be it with a knife design, a tool, anything. I try to constantly look at something I am designing and go the other direction, "how can I make it simpler without sacrificing design aesthetics or functionnality".

Thanks for sharing and keep'em comming.

I know my grinds need a little improving, but I'm soo happy to have these done. I think they turned out great, at least for me.

Thanks for looking!!

I would personally rather not have the filework extend into the guard area, it just looks wrong to me.

Yep, I agree.

That was a beginner's error on that knife. The file work on the other two knives begin right at the face of the guard, as designed.

Give me a break! First attempt at a sheath! You make me sick! I am never making another sheath again! I am having it done! SO how much you asking? Really, that knife is beautiful as well as the sheath. I am just a little envious!

Very good work. If those are your early knives, just imagine what your knives will look like in 20 years! I don't care if everyone and their brother makes Loveless hunters, they are just classic and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

- we could all pick our own knives apart with scrutiny...but to the casual observer and even a fairly discriminating nut...there ain't anything wrong with those knives! I would be VERY proud of them if I had made them! Superb work!

Yes, the filework went into the guard. Believe you me when I say that is the ONLY thing I see that I wouldn't do. If in fact this is your 9th knife, well, you have surpassed 99% of us. You have done an excellent job. The sheath alone is a great job and something to be proud of. From the photos, your fit and finish are very, very good. Just keep doing what you are doing.

You have a lot to be proud of.

Those are very nice knives - and sheaths! Good work, you have a great run ahead of you. I'm really pleased that you're tapering tangs, very few makers take the time to do it. That's a very "makerly" thing to do, and sets you apart from the crowd. Good going. Can't wait to see more.
