I love that maroon micarta, I've not seen that before.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I had a hard time deciding whether to go with back or maroon scales, but I think the maroon looks good against the black knife.

Thanks Vic.

I forgot to mention that the large and medium sheaths are ambidextrous, the knives go in either way.

no takers yet?

back up

Thanks for looking,-Josiah

Pardon my ignorance, but I am curious of the heat treat and hardness?

Thanks

I don't have an Rc tester but I will tell you my process. I have a Ht oven that I heat up to aprox 1550' , I normalize the blades 3times then I heat them up to 1550' and quench in 3440 quench oil (parks #50 for the 1095). I then temper 2 time for 2 hours at 400. I have been told that this process puts me at Rc 58-60. After that I deferentially temper the blades by putting the edge in water and torching the spine, this helps flexibility in larger knives. I have been using slight variations of this process on all my carbon steels and have gotten very good results. I find that this process leaves me with a strong durable knife that will hold a keen edge.

If you have further questions then feal free to Pm or email me, -Josiah

Just want to say:
Good lookin knives!
Love the grips with the recess around the screws
Love the overall shape and design
Your pictures are excellent and really show off the attributes.
Some day I will buy one of your knives.
