Three Old Timers

Seeing the Muskrat brought back memories. I still have my Schrade Muskrat, stained blades and all. It still is great for food preparation around the kitchen and camp. I wish I could remember the model number (58OT maybe?), but I also have the super-large Stockman that was about 5 1/2" long and came in a leather pouch sheath with a snap cover.

Ron,Wow a 5-1/2" stockman !! I'm sure one of the guys here will be talking with you
I wish you could post a picture of that here
Thanks,
-Vince

Who posted the pic of the great redbone on a Old Timer?? Would love to see that pic again..

Vince,

I have identified it, reading through one of Codger's threads in the Schrade Collectors forum. It is an 858OT, and I have the pouch sheath with it.

Quick administrative note:

Please limit trade discussion to the the Slippie Swap Meet thread (which is pinned at the top of the forum) or to direct messaging via email or PM's.

Ron, we know you're new to these parts so don't think you're being singled out or admonished. This is strictly an advisory so as to avoid any issues.

Thanks for your understaning and cooperation.

(And Ron, keep your head down. (And thanks for your service.)

Ron,
Statistically,"givers" have better health,less stress,miss less days at work,lower blood pressure,too
A giveaway would be cool,on a hot August day,Whatta Ya think ?
-Vince

Elliot, not taken personally, and my apologies, sir! You are correct, I will take it to the "Swap Meet" forum. Thank the young men and women who are doing the really hard work over here, Elliot...they're the unsung heroes who really deserve the thanks! I'm just an "old" guy who's trying to lend a hand.

Vince, I'm in Northern Iraq and the 858OT is at home in Texas. I'll have a look at it's overall length when I get home next week.

Ron

Elliott,
Watch that "Bay" stuff now, don't let me pull rank on you....

Vince,

In the last 25 years or so, I've worked in El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, Angola, Kuwait, Iraq, Cameroon...and probably a few other "garden spots!" Maybe I should, consider that giveaway...a little less stress in my life would be a good thing! Ha!

Ron

Ron,
What are you doing "over there" ??

Lending a hand and helping out. I believe that when God has blessed you with certain talents and experience, you should use that to help these young men and women, and give them a better chance at getting through this successfully and making it home to their families. So, nothing special, just helping out.

No apologies necessary, Ron. Totally understood on all counts.
(BTW, I had some offers to go over there when I retired from federal service in 2004. I think you and I are pretty close in age as I recall from another post of yours.)

Amen to that

Elliot, we probably are. I retired from the military (21 1/2 years) in 1993. Been kicking around doing this sort of thing since then.
