Oh...my...God...

I see a lot of knives I haven't seen before, I see many I'd like to own, this is one of the rare times I've seen a knife and knew, without a single iota of doubt, that this--THIS--will be my next purchase.

There are so many buttons this thing pushes for me I feel like someone is using me to send text messages.

Just...wow.

Best,

Heekma

it looks like you could baton that rock with it...

funny, i was looking at their youtube stuff last night...

i think they work with s35v now too.

I am glad you all like it...I am not a fan however. I dont like the thickness of the blade, nor the way the swedge looks. It looks like it would be a terrible slicer with the thick stock and mid steep sabre/hollow grind. Maybe I'd need to hold it to appreciate it but I'd wager its forward heavy and I am not a fan of that in my folders.

That swedge needs to be pushed way back. As is, I suspect it hinders penetration.

That was my thoughts as well. I don't get the trend of knives with pry bars for blades.

But different strokes and all that....

I just got mine, and I wanted to give it a workout before I make a decision on that swedge, and the fairly extreme "horns" where it meets the full-thickness of the blade. I may get them ground down later. It's a very interesting knife, otherwise, very solid (of course) and still as good a slicer as can be expected. The stock thickness is reportedly .195 inches, though I haven't put a micrometer on it to check. s35vn appears to be very very tough, but I'll talk more about that in a possible future review once I've used the beast a bit more.

One thing to keep in mind. This knife is NOT designed to be an elegant slicer, like a Sebenza... This is designed to do whatever it has to, whatever is needed, in environments that most of us will never have to enter. Most of the customers of TSF, are soldiers and LEOs. (I'm really, really not trying to get into a debate about hard use folders) I tend to prefer a heavier blade, some prefer a slimmer one, we can still get along, I think. :)

You are right on. This knife is designed for a very different set of conditions in which it will clearly excels. I like the swedge. I am often guilty of using knives as pry bars. This one pried the top off a painted on paint can lid. It was also able to penetrate the top of the paint can like butter....I'd do a vid.....not a scratch on it, just some white paint.

I had the Tactical folder for a short period of time. The cost isn't bad for what it is & the blade's stout. I thought F&F was good, but not excellent. I recall the Ti being a little sharp around the edges.

It's not a great folder for slicing, but I don't believe that's what it's designed for. They seem to be good, solid knives.

The low-rider clip's a good idea, but I think it should be mounted a little higher on the handle. JMO, of course.

I do like the texturing on the scale as it sure looks like it'll improve grip tremendously.

very interesting knife! great pictures, but can you do a view of the top of the blade? about how much did it run you? also any specs? :)

Checked out his website. Specs available there on the Beast. I gather the Tactical folder is about the same size, but its damascus blade raises the price a bit.

The Beast is a reasonable price but I sure wish I could afford the Tactical! I may have to see what I can sell. :)

Jim "mixes" his own damascus, if I recall. He's got a "Three Sister's Forge" youtube channel where he forges a bit of it "on camera". That'd be a very cool knife, indeed!
