Sale Guidelines: All prices include CONUS shipping (only) and Paypal. The first "I'll take it" post gets the specified knife - you can buy a knife via PM but if someone posts "I'll take it" before I can check my PMs then I'll have to sell it to the other person. If you have any questions about any knife please let me know.
Will consider trades for Jared Oeser knives of any style, used or unused.
1: Fiddleback Forge Terrasaur
This knife was beaten relentlessly for the bulk of 2012. It was used for fishing, woodcraft, camping, hiking, kitchen chores, and yard work. It has been dirtied, rusted, cleaned, and stropped more times than I can remember. For the purpose of this sale I cleaned it up a bit to remove all the rust and most of the patina, but it is far from mint in terms of appearance. As for functional condition, this knife has never incurred any damage beyond staining and surface scratches, despite all the miles I put on it. It is also much sharper now than when I got it. I’d say this is the perfect Fiddleback model and this particular knife is one of the best bushcraft/general utility knives I have owned. But others have replaced it, so I don’t want it to sit around…
Specs:
5/32” O1 steel
9” OAL
4.25” blade
Full height convex grind with convex microbevel
Black burlap micarta handles with brown canvas micarta liners
Leather sheath by Heber Ellsworth
$150
2: Diamond J archer’s knife
Unused, unsharpened, a couple very small surface scratches and spots (not patina, unsure what they are from) but otherwise in perfect shape. Rare, unique, and very cool.
1095 steel with active hamon
Cocobolo handles
Brass pin and lanyard tube
Tapered tang
Unsharpened swedge
7.25” OAL
2.75” blade (tip to ricasso)
Black leather sheath, imprinted with knife’s name (Megumi)
$90
3: Three Sisters Forge Traditional Japanese Hunter
A rare and storied knife… I bought this unused and it came with a very thick and short secondary edge bevel. I sent it to Bark River Knives to sharpen it, and it came back thinned out a bit which made it lighter, better balanced (was on the collar, now on the bolster), and sharper. There is a remnant of the secondary bevel still, but I’d say this knife is about 90% to where I’d want it to be if I were to put it to serious use. There are a few light surface scratches and some scratches from stropping it, but otherwise it is in perfect shape.
Specs:
9.75” OAL
4.75” blade (4.5” edge)
3/16” 1095 steel
Brass collar
Copper bolster
Amboyna burl handle
Hidden tang
Sheath by Treestump Leather
$95
4. Laci Szabo American
This knife originally came with paracord-wrapping on the handle, but I sent it to Shannon Carter for some fat scales in hopes that it would balance the knife out and give it a better feel in the hand. I think it worked. There are some scratches on the blade from the sheath and from very light and brief stropping, but otherwise it’s new and unused.
Specs:
1/4” blued 5160 steel
10.5” OAL
4.75” doubled-edged blade (cutting edge)
Black and green linen micarta over bone G10 handles
Black linen pins and aluminum tube
Kydex sheath
$150
5. Justin King Slim EDC
Justin made a few of these last year and this was the biggest of the bunch. He isn’t making knives much these days and, while I know of a couple Slim EDCs he has in process I’m not sure when he’ll get around to finishing them. I would put this knife in the Bud Nealy/Fred Perrin category of concealable fixed blade for defense and utility – it is compact, light, and fast, yet very sturdy and secure. I carried it for several months and really enjoyed it, as a result it has a bit of patina and has been stropped a few times. Other than the patina and some surface scratches it is in perfect shape.
Specs:
3/16” 52100 steel
Full distal taper and tapered tang
Rounded spine
Saber flat ground with flat secondary bevel
Stonewashed finish
8” OAL
3.5” blade (cutting edge)
Gray paper micarta handles with scalloped texturing
Hollow brass pins
Kydex sheath
$95
6. Justin King Mini Tasker
I drooled over this knife for months and then finally bought it from a previous owner. It shows a few surface scratches from light use, but is otherwise flawless. Like the Slim EDC there were only a few made and I’m not sure if Justin will make more. It is, in my opinion, one of the best defensive carry designs in this size range, due to the handle design and oversized guard. I love it but not enough to beat the crap out of it, so off it goes.
Specs:
1/8” CPM154 steel
6.25” OAL
2.5” blade (cutting edge)
Rounded spine
Saber flat ground with flat secondary bevel
Bead-blasted blue and black G10 scales
Bead-blasted finish
Bead-blasted hollow steel pins
Kydex sheath
$80
7. Rick Lowe filet knife
The specs from Rick:
Forged from 3/8" round stock into a long, thin and very flexible blade. Flat grind, belt finish with stainless pins and lanyard tube in the osage handle. Comes with a custom leather sheath in right hand carry.
OAL: 11 1/8"
Blade: 7" to handle
Width: 1/2"
Thickness: 3/32" at handle tapering down to 1/16" within one inch of handle.
I’m not sure if Rick makes knives these days and I only know of one of these.
$70
8. David Farmer Big 8
This knife was bought secondhand but didn’t appear to be used until I got it. It has some patina spots on the blade from light kitchen use and on the butt from exposure, but otherwise it’s in mint condition. It is light, fast, and sharp. Balance point is between the scales and the cutting edge, giving it a good heft when holding it at the bottom of the handle and a neutral balance when choking up. Very nice work overall, I just don’t have a use niche for a blade this size.
The sheath was made by this knife’s previous owner, and it is very nice quality leather with excellent stitching. Retention is poor, however, but can be achieved by wrapping a lanyard cord around the strap.
Specs:
1/8” 1095 steel
14.5” OAL
8 7/8” blade (8.25” cutting edge)
Brass pins and lanyard tube
Zebrawood handles
Leather sheath
$90
9. Matt Bailey cord-wrapped knife
I just bought this and want to keep it for training purposes but I'm still on the fence about it. I figure I can always beat the crap out of it if no one else wants it... I don't have pics as I just got it the other day, so I'll just link to Matt's sales thread for pics and specs:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1029817-W2-with-Hemp-and-Bold-Hamon
It is exactly as it came from Matt, and I'll sell it for $200 just to sweeten the deal a bit.
