It is my opinion that the speed of the connection plays only a small part. I connect using a T1 connection. 1.5 mbps up and down. That doesn't even meet the definition of broadband speed, but based on where I live, it's either a T1 or (years past) a crappy, slow, data-capped, high-latency satellite connection. There is no fiber, DSL, cable, or over the air broadband where I live, although I've been experimenting with Starlink. But I digress.
I don't always get in the money, but usually that's because of the weak link in my system - ME. I've clicked on the wrong link, or no link at all, I've forgotten to click into the "write a message" box, I've forgotten to "Post Reply". Only a small hesitation or misfire lands me in the dust, watching the herd in the distance. BUT, when I get it right, I've managed to get several desirable knives. Anyway, I know what my chances of getting a knife are if I don't try. So, I try, and try again if necessary, and sometimes I make it. I think I agree with several other posters, that the biggest factor is the refresh, and being lucky enough to refresh at the right time. That, and not typing with my elbow.
