Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

Fairly inexpensive old Barlow, pull strength is a bit strong so I went to town to get a nail nick further down the blades to get more of a mechanical advantage to pull the blades out easier.
Definitely not the prettiest job which I wish I could have done better but it is what it is 😇

With the nail nicks further out it means that I ’probably’ won’t break my nail…probably…

Man I do have a soft spot for old Imperial knives. You might be able to true up those new nail nicks with a little needle file, sandpaper, and some time if you are so inclined. Otherwise they have a good old carbon blades that take a nice edge!

Friction Folders.
Set of MAM. Stainless blades (they discontinued carbon steel blades a few years ago. 🥺) non-locking versions.
Opinel N°6, Olive Wood, SS blade. I finally got around to popping off the lock ring a few months ago. I never engaged the lock.
N. Codega Premana Carbon Steel blade. I am not sure what the wood is.
(Large? Extra Large? 5" closed) Old Bear. Walnut handle. W 1.4060 Nitrogen blade steel.
