I'm going to make up a pair of through tang knives soon from CPM154.
I made one from D2 some years back and the threads on the tang busted when I was glueing it up. Would you thread the tang of an air hardening stainless or would you weld a theaded rod to the tang? Are their any issues with welding the all thread to the tang before HT? Or would it be better to split the all thread and just pin it to a hole in the tang after HT?
What's your preference?
Thanx, Pat
