Throwback Thursday (Traditionals)

Today is my Vic Bantam. I got this knife as a Christmas gift from a friend when I was around 11. It became my most carried knife for over a decade. It did all that I ever asked of it and still does! I love this guy!

Here's a favorite of mine. It never gets any pocket time. A nice Schrade Cut Co. barlow with sawcut bone covers. It still snaps like a bear trap.

Just magnificent, Charles. I love the slender, sweeping spear point on the main blade, and of course the fancy bolsters and gorgeous stag.
The extension spring for the pen is another wonderful touch. What is the OAL closed?

Thanks, this one was built prior to 1860 in Sheffield, and 3 3/16" closed.
Charles

Nice pair of kitchen Richtigs. At a flea market in NE I saw a beat parer, over half its life was gone, for $75. Have you used the Richtig knives, do they hold the legendary edge?

I haven't ever used or tried to sharpen the kitchen knives. The skinner I've used a lot on deer. The steel, whatever kind it is, is some hard stuff, but it does hold it's edge very well. Around here, they bring a premium at the gun shows, if you even see one. I've always tried to find one of his fighter models he made for soldiers in WWII, but no luck.

I'm carrying one that will always remind me of jone as she gifted it to me a while back. Took a razor sharp edge on my Lansky a few weeks ago too.

This 32+ year old SAK Passenger is currently the oldest knife I own...anything older was given away, lost, or sold when I was given an offer I couldn't refuse. I cleaned her up recently, and if knives had a Passport, this one would have had a couple of books or more given all the places she's been....

Nebraskans know their richtigs :). The museum of american edged weaponry in intercouse pa has a couple of his great fighters.
