Throwing the Boss ;-)

Sorry just not used to people not trusting me.... My friends know I don't BS.

Has nothing to do with cred or trust. It's a very common phrase here, no matter who you are, because that's just what we do. We like the pics!

btw, an SHBM is a good thrower, too.

what are the best ergonomics for throwing?? you obviously do fine with these, but wouldn't it be easier to huck something made for hucking? even as a back up blade.

That would be a decision that you would have to make... there are just so many blades that you would want to carry. Depending on who you are and what your doing would influence that decision. Let's just say someone in the military might want to limit the number of knifes he / she carries to three. The first would be the primary fighting knife... maybe something in the 7 to 9" range. The second would be a multi-purpose knife that would be used to do a number of tasks. This balde might be in the 3 to 5" range. The third knife might be a small folder, with a 1 to 3" range. Again with a wide range a tasks it would be a multi-purpose knife.

To me I see the second knife having the responsibility of the thrower as one of it's multiple responsibilities. Could that knife be a dedicated thrower and still be able to perform the other tasks required? Maybe.... maybe not. I would not carry a dedicated thrower for my second blade. But your responsibility may require that you do carry one... so the answer is "it depends" ;-) Anyway I hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks for the in depth response. I totally get it. I guess sometimes we spend so much time thinking about design, overall utility and intended use; it almost feels like we want to search for the right tool for everything and every situation has a
“right” tool. That being said, it’s impressive how proficient people can become with anything if need be.

Shortly after that, my Warden ran off with my wife  :o ...

Good score, from the moment I saw the BOSS street, it always reminded me of the HCLE as well.

Me and Ban use to throw a SAR 5, it was outside on pavement too, but it kept a decent workable edge if it needed to be used. A lot fun, everyone should try it.

FWIW to those who might buy a layered foam target, such as "The Block", it is a good idea to turn the target sideways so that the layers are vertical.

(IMO) :)

Your correct... I learned the hard way and had to duct tape the non vertical side to keep it together ;-)
