I've had a lot of customers ask about doing these. Well I hope to answer that here. Just for size reference, the small one in the last pic is .5" long. The larger material is .1875" 1095 and the smaller is .125" 1080.

Stacy, what about cutting some mini knives?:D

David, I usually forge and/or grind them. They are too small to cut out, anyway. The time profiling out a mini is just minutes. It is the fittings and handles that take the time. That said, it might be fun to see how well you could cut a blade profile in .020 steel and 1" length. Maybe make a profile in 1/2" stock and slice a batch out of it?
I have had the suggestion from several people at work to make pins/brooches from my minis. They would be about 1.5" long X .025 thick. That might be a water jet worth project to have a couple dozen cut.I wonder about guards in brass or nickel that are .025 thick by .150X.100 oval, with a .020X.075 slot?
I do have some work for you that I will be contacting you about.I'll send some art work on the minis,to see if it can be reduced that small.
Stacy

BTW: I love what you are able to do with a water jet.

Well, you certainly improved your game somewhere! Those are MUCH nicer than the ones on the knife you cut out for me late last year (then again, could have been the post-HT cleanup, not the cutting itself)
